Jenny comes from a diverse background that gives her a unique approach to training young horses and instructing riders. From William Woods University Jenny earned a degree in Elementary Education and Equestrian Science. She understands how to teach and believes in meeting students (Horse or human) at their ability level and build their confidence step by step to achieve new goals. As an Army National Guard Infantry Medic, she possesses the self-discipline and medical knowledge to provide structure and safety. Working with young sale horses is a passion of Jenny’s and her experience as Realtor (Jenny Hewitt Realty with Keller Williams in Madison Wi) gives her an edge when it comes to marketing sale horses.

Jenny began her career in the western disciplines – specifically halter and showmanship, developed a passion for jumping, loving the graceful hunter and adrenaline of the jumper ring. At First Class Horse Complex lessons emphasize the importance of horse psychology and applied horsemanship to improve the rider. Our horse lessons in Bristol, WI are available for both adult and young riders.

Lessons are customized to match your individual needs. Lesson programs maintain a special emphasis on horsemanship and safety. Our 60 min horseback riding lessons are designed to develop independent equestrian riders. We encourage all of our riders to learn the complete care of the horse. We feel that understanding the horse on the ground enhances the relationship between horse and rider. All of our students are encouraged to set goals for themselves whether it be to be able to enjoy a trial ride or to compete. Our 30 minute private lessons are tailored to accommodate your schedule, specific needs and focuses.

Our equine workshops are designed for the first time horse enthusiast as well as the experienced horse owner. First Class Horse Complex workshops can range from lecture based presentations to interactive sessions with horses. Workshops are an informational step up from a lesson but not as concentrated as a clinic.

Our workshops are an explanation of horses and riders on a microscopic level. Each Workshop will thoroughly examine best practices of the horse industry in a two hour program. Each Workshop will focus on one equine subject. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers during the Workshop. Workshops will motivate attendees to be better horsemen and women. We offer saddle seat (English) and some western riding lessons to all levels of riders, from the first lesson to the most advanced rider. You do not have to own your own horse as we have riding programs for the serious show ring competitor as well as for newcomers - even Tiny Tots! In all facets of the learning process, we encourage a strong sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship and fun. We offer adult-only riding groups on Monday evenings. Our heated indoor arena allows us to maintain our lesson schedule year-round.

We would love for you to come and visit us for a tour and watch us give a riding lesson so you can learn first-hand about our program and teaching style. We give lessons Monday through Thursday and on weekends. Please call ahead if you would like to come for a visit.

We also offer camps, birthday parties, Girl Scout and Boy Scout visits to earn badges, boarding and training services. Clients are also welcome to join our Youth Club which meets once a month and participates in horse activities, community service, fun outings, and more!

Curtis Stables is located in the beautiful rolling countryside west of Madison. The facility is on 40 acres with an indoor arena, outdoor arena, two 60' round pens, 15 acres for group turnout with water and shade, and 6 areas for private turnout. All fences are board or woven wire and in good repair. Shelters are available in all turnout areas. The barn has 11 box stalls and one double stall. It's built into the hill so it's warm in winter and cool in summer. The indoor has summer screens so birds are never an issue.

Instructor with over 35 years of experience: Sharon Curtis, M.S., L.P.C is a certified instructor emphasizing Balance Seat Riding which is transferable to all seats riding. Balanced seat riding teaches people to ride any horse, anywhere SAFELY. Students ages range from 4yrs.-80yrs. Group lessons contain 4 or less students with similar skills and abilities. Private lessons are also available. Very beginners through Advanced Jumpers. Coaching provided at all levels and shows.

Lost Creek Ranch is a 501(c)3 Non Profit horse rescue. Lynette Weldon along with her board, interns and volunteers rescue, retrain and give our horses a forever home and job working in one of our programs like Camp Confidence, teaching lessons or taking riders on the trails.

Our Mission "Let no heart or soul , human or equine, fall through the cracks." is really more than just words. It is how Lynette Weldon lives her life and it is why the ranch exists. Her strong belief that has every life is valuable and that everyone deserves a second chance has guided her in setting up programs. Every rescue horse at the ranch has a job. Even the senior semi retired horses like Blizz, Bandit and Tardy are used for timid little ones to learn to groom and lead. The ranch is often the last stop for a horse that has had a run of bad luck and been labeled "dangerous" or "crazy." The most dramatic changes are seen in these horses. After establishing leadership and building trust It doesn't take Lynette long to have them safe and sane and ready for their new job.

Not only is Lost Creek Ranch a place for equine lost souls it is also a respite for people who needs to build their confidence, make new friends and find a place to belong. Beginning riders learn to safely handle a horse on the ground, grooming, how to saddle, form, posture, balance and communication. Jack and Paula Curtis have a combined experience of 32 years; training horses and instructing their owners, in a variety of disciplines. Together they have competed nationally in Jumping, Dressage, and Western events. They teach clinics throughout the state, and as far away as Florida, give demonstrations at horse fairs, and instruct anyone interested in achieving a higher level of horsemanship.

Having studied with some of the finest trainers and clinicians the horse industry has to offer, Jack and Paula bring a wealth of knowledge to their teaching program. Their ability to articulate their thoughts and ideas has an enormous impact on the success of their students and horses.
~The Stable~
The stable of JPC offers indoor and outdoor full-service boarding with the amenities of a large facility and the individualized care of a small family stable. New large indoor arena, spacious clean rubber matted stalls, and miles of trails meandering through the 62 acre farm. Horses live in a quiet, relaxed and closely watched environment. Feeding and turnout programs are customized to each horse. Owners live on premise, and are involved with the day to day operations of the facility.
Located in Grafton, WI, minutes north of Milwaukee and just 1 1/2 miles off of I-43. It is 62 scenic acres of rolling fields, woods, creek, and pasture.

I am a dressage, jumping, and beginner lesson instructor. I came over from Holland over 6 years ago. Back in Holland I graduated as Veterinarian Assistant/Technician. I was always into the horses and have a lot of experience with the youngsters, and trained with some great trainers over in Holland.
In the US I trained under Yvonne Berkhout for many years, then Wayne Boyers, Kim Iwen and Endel Ots of Kim and Yvonne Barteau's KYB Dressage. I am terrific with kids, but do offer intermediate lessons to 3rd level. I have participated in many shows around the country and have scored in the seventies at every level I have competed. My main focus in my lessons are to keep harmony between the horse and rider, and that both come out of the lessons feeling happy, and improved.... See More
