Hello, horse enthusiasts! I am a retired riding coach/trainer/instructor with a passion for the equestrian world and a desire to get "back into the saddle again" and share my knowledge and skills with budding riders.

I am seeking grassroots, home-based beginner riders of any age within a 30-40 minute radius of Indianapolis, IN 46268. I offer private and group lessons at an affordable $35 per hour.

I Will Travel to You! I no longer have access to horses. So, I am looking for students needing instruction on their horse and location. There is no need to worry about transportation; I will come to your farm or location, bringing my expertise and enthusiasm to your doorstep.

Specializing in Beginner Hunter Jumper and Equitation, my teaching primarily focuses on the English Style of Riding, Beginner Jumping, Beginner to Intermediate Hunter Jumper, and Hunt Seat Equitation.

I am a Retired Hunt Seat Certified. As a retired instructor and coach of the American Riding Instructors Association and retired Interscholastic Equestrian Team Coach, I bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record to my teaching.

My experience extends beyond coaching and training. I was the Founder and Director of an equine non-profit called "Ponies and Kids." I ran successful lesson, showing, camp, and outreach programs in West Lafayette, Indiana.

After several rewarding years in retirement, during which I've had the joy of helping raise my grandchildren, I find myself drawn back to a long-standing passion of mine. My fulfillment from family life is immense, but I can no longer ignore the persistent calling to return to my chosen vocation of teaching children, young adults, and adults how to care for and ride a horse.

It's not just about mastering the skill of riding but also instilling in them a deep respect and understanding of how to care for horses safely. I offer instruction in classical dressage-based horsemanship for any level of rider. My methods are based on 'Old World' military horsemanship that takes the techniques of training horses for jousting, mounted archery, mounted combat, etc. and adapts them to practical horsemanship. These methods are rooted in centuries of study in the nature and biomechanical interplay between horse and rider, handed down from master to student, throughout most of recorded history. No force or coercion is used in this style of training, but rather the goal is trust and forming a partnership, conditioning and making the horse supple, with the goal of improving their ability to carry the rider, athletically, for many happy years. If this sounds like the better aspects of what is now called "Natural Horsemanship, well the classical masters had a name for it, they called it "Horsemanship". :)
