We love to teach ! Family oriented barn. Ages 5 and up . Lessons by appt only . We offer English ( Hunt seat ) and Western riding . Day camps for kids and adults . Small groups are welcome . We have gift certificates for that special someone .

Overnight Riding Camp Fox Pointe Farm
Week-long sessions for girls ages 11 to 17 seeking an accelerated week of riding instruction. We are a proudly a USHJA Recognized Riding Academy, TCP Certified Instructor, Interscholastic Equestrian Association coach, and member of VHSA, USEF. Riders interested our program should submit a brief video that demonstrates rider’s proficiency. Receive personal attention in a small group setting. Sessions are limited to 8 riders. Bring your own horse or ride farm-owned horses or ponies. Stay busy riding twice daily, hands-on sessions on-the-ground horsemanship and barn management. Instruction takes place in one of our two spacious arenas.
Come for a week of a fun and meaningful overnight camp experience where your riding skills will grow exponentially and you will meet new friends!

Individualized 1:1 learning while mounted yet in a group situation. Learning harder skills such as posting at the trot are introduced privately with your child on a longe-line. Horsemanship and riding lessons are taught by a certified instructor. We teach children ages 6 and up, & we love teaching adults! (Adults have fun at camp too!) From the student who has never touched a horse, to those with experience cantering and jumping, we offer something for everyone. We strive to focus on teaching good Horsemanship principles to everyone. This includes but is not limited to, learning how to read horses body language, learning how to use your own body language to influence the horse, understanding how herd behavior works and why it is so important to understand the differences of prey and predators. Campers will spend the day with a horse and/or on horse activities. Include in camp: Grooming, tacking up, riding, different riding styles, breeds, colors, markings, stable management, tack: parts of and how to clean, emergency medical issues, how to weigh and measure a horse an end of week show and more as time permits. Our summer camp sessions run from 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday for kids ages 6-12. Each camp is a mix of horseback riding, art, cooking, horsemanship and outdoor adventures.

In our camps we learn the basic skills of horsemanship, horse health, grooming, bathing, tacking and riding. Our camps also include swimming, arts and crafts, painting horses, fishing, canoeing, trail riding, equine photography, campfires and S'mores, picnics and more. We will ride every day, weather permitting, with lots of horse related activities to keep us busy each day.

* Half Day camps (Morning or Afternoon) are available during most sessions.

* Our camps are limited to 8 campers per session in order to assure quality instruction and attention for each student.

This camp offers a varieties indoors and and outside activities Mrs. Barnes, an art teacher for Chesapeake Public Schools, caters her art activities toward the campers skill levels and desires. Some activities include loom weaving, acrylic painting, watercolors, T-shirt designing, sculpting in plastic, and pen and ink designs. Camp Rainy Day Stables is a week long horse camp located near Harrisonburg Va. Camps are sleep away or day camps depending on the age of campers. Ages 6 - 16

Sprouse's Corner Ranch camps focus on horse management, riding skills, and safety around horses. The campers will begin their day with feeding, brushing, saddling and riding lessons. They will then have the opportunity to bathe and care for their camp horse (our horse or yours!). After a snack and some fun in the water, campers will learn a variety of horse management skills including first aid, health care, hoof care, feeding, illness management and prevention. After lunch, the horses will be prepared for another riding lesson. In the Horsemanship I, II and Advanced camps, the day will be finished up with demonstrations, educational games, and riding skills practice. Cost of the camp includes snacks and a t-shirt.
