Horse Camps in Lexington, Virginia (Rockbridge County)

Our goal at Stone Bridge Farm is to offer our riders the best riding instruction, facilities and horses available in southwest Virginia -- and to do so in an environment that is fun, welcoming, and safe! In the last year, our high school and middle school riding teams have been among the most successful in the Mid-Atlantic states, and many of our show riders have earned local, state and national recognition.

Whether your child is just starting out as a rider, or wants to set and work towards competitive goals, we hope that he or she will join us for one or more weeks of riding, learning and fun this summer! Our day camp programs, for riders age 7 to 17, are growing and getting better every year -- some developments this year include:

* Camp programs will be run by Ariadne Paxton, who is both an elementary school teacher and a long-time horsewoman and instructor with a degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech.
* Full Day and Half Day Sessions are available, as well as an Extended Day option, to accommodate your family's schedule.
* To insure that all riders get the most out of their camp experience, sessions are limited to 15 riders per week, and are grouped by riding level. Campers can sign up for Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced sessions. Please contact the Farm to find out which groups would be most suitable for your child.
* Campers can bring their own horse or use one of ours.
* Two weeks of IEA Team Training Sessions will be offered in July and August.
* Each full camp day includes a morning lesson and an afternoon lesson or "fun ride" -- mounted games, obstacle courses or trail ride -- as well as horsemanship activities.

Redmont Farm Summer Horse Camp provides daily riding instruction, horse games and crafts, bareback riding, horse painting and more fun! We have safe, well-trained horses and ponies for your child to learn on. Ages 6 and older, previous riding experience is not necessary.... See More

We love to teach ! Family oriented barn. Ages 5 and up . Lessons by appt only . We offer English ( Hunt seat ) and Western riding . Day camps for kids and adults . Small groups are welcome . We have gift certificates for that special someone .

Sprouse's Corner Ranch camps focus on horse management, riding skills, and safety around horses. The campers will begin their day with feeding, brushing, saddling and riding lessons. They will then have the opportunity to bathe and care for their camp horse (our horse or yours!). After a snack and some fun in the water, campers will learn a variety of horse management skills including first aid, health care, hoof care, feeding, illness management and prevention. After lunch, the horses will be prepared for another riding lesson. In the Horsemanship I, II and Advanced camps, the day will be finished up with demonstrations, educational games, and riding skills practice. Cost of the camp includes snacks and a t-shirt. Camp Rainy Day Stables is a week long horse camp located near Harrisonburg Va. Camps are sleep away or day camps depending on the age of campers. Ages 6 - 16
