Horse Camps in Dale City, Virginia (Prince William County)

Silver Eagle Stable hosts a variety of Horseback Riding Camps throughout the year. Children age 5 and up are welcome to attend. Unless otherwise noted on a specific camp, all skill levels are acceptable.

One-week, 1/2 day specialty programs. Specialties range from basic Recreational Riding weeks to upper level Dressage and Jumping weeks.

Horseback riding at the Madeira School combines excellent horses and ponies, qualified instructors, and top-notch facilities, to create an equestrian program where campers can develop their horseback riding skills, deepen their horsemanship knowledge, and have fun riding with friends.

Individualized 1:1 learning while mounted yet in a group situation. Learning harder skills such as posting at the trot are introduced privately with your child on a longe-line. Our summer camp sessions run from 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday for kids ages 6-12. Each camp is a mix of horseback riding, art, cooking, horsemanship and outdoor adventures.

Foxrock Stables is a family owned farm which welcomes all types of riders from experienced to beginner. We offer lessons every day of the week all year long as well as participate in local shows and foxhunting. We especially enjoy welcoming our younger riders! We offer summer horse camps, trail rides, birthday parties and participate in the National Capital Equestrian Short Stirrup league. We are a family friendly barn and our horses and ponies are used to everything from camps in the summers to Foxhunting and horse shows all year long. Horsemanship and riding lessons are taught by a certified instructor. We teach children ages 6 and up, & we love teaching adults! (Adults have fun at camp too!) From the student who has never touched a horse, to those with experience cantering and jumping, we offer something for everyone. We strive to focus on teaching good Horsemanship principles to everyone. This includes but is not limited to, learning how to read horses body language, learning how to use your own body language to influence the horse, understanding how herd behavior works and why it is so important to understand the differences of prey and predators. Campers will spend the day with a horse and/or on horse activities. Heldergate Stables is offering our day camp for two different session options in July 2014!

Camp is from 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with a horse show and family picnic on Saturday! Early drop-off and late pick-up are available.

-For our younger or beginning participants, camp offers a fun, active alternative to ordinary childcare, and includes early drop-off and late-pick-up when needed. Besides foundation horseback riding skills, we also teach horsemanship and theory, basic nutrition and barn care, and a sense of initiative and cooperation. Students will bond with "their" horses throughout the week as they learn to ride and care for them, and demonstrate their skills in the horse show on Saturday.

They will also participate in games, arts and crafts, group sports and other activities.

-For our older or more advanced riders, camp offers a chance to have two lessons a day, sort out specific issues with your horse, work toward individual riding or competition goals, and have some fun all day while doing it! *Potential for off-farm schooling or day-trip, depending on rider enrollment.*

Owning a horse is not necessary; board for the week is available if you do!

Overnight Riding Camp Fox Pointe Farm
Week-long sessions for girls ages 11 to 17 seeking an accelerated week of riding instruction. We are a proudly a USHJA Recognized Riding Academy, TCP Certified Instructor, Interscholastic Equestrian Association coach, and member of VHSA, USEF. Riders interested our program should submit a brief video that demonstrates rider’s proficiency. Receive personal attention in a small group setting. Sessions are limited to 8 riders. Bring your own horse or ride farm-owned horses or ponies. Stay busy riding twice daily, hands-on sessions on-the-ground horsemanship and barn management. Instruction takes place in one of our two spacious arenas.
Come for a week of a fun and meaningful overnight camp experience where your riding skills will grow exponentially and you will meet new friends!
