WESTERN RIDING LESSONS

Beginning and intermediate lessons are available for all ages (no younger than 7) in English and Western. Safe horsemanship is a primary goal along with comfort and confidence on and around the horse. Our focus is clear communication with the horse for safe riding whether it be on the trail, just for fun or at a show. We also enjoy working towards your specific goals as a rider and student. Unlike the majority of instructors, I can travel to you and your horse to teach and train.

Horses are also students of riding as well as the riders, so I also provide training services. From breaking to maintenance riding and everything in between, it can be done.

Problem horses are a specialty of mine. With experience in working with unruly off the track thoroughbreds, it is a known fact that not everyone is willing to deal with a dangerous horse.... See More

Hunter/Jumper riding lessons for beginners to advanced riders!

What started off with the rescue of a couple of horses, a couple years ago, then turned into a trail riding business called Just Us Gals . . . and our Horses, and has now evolved into Henry's Home Horse and Human Sanctuary. We incorporated into a 501c3 Non-Profit about a year and a half ago, and moved our location up to Conroe just a couple months ago. About Me:
I was certified Level II Dressage and Eventing with the American Riding Instructors Association from 2003-2007. In 2005 I completed a semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School (which included a section of horsepacking 137 miles of Wyoming Wilderness) and left Texas to work in Yosemite National Park as a science teacher and sometimes Mounted National Park Service Ranger. Training session/ride - $35/session.

I do not keep track of time on my lessons/training, they could be anywhere from 30 minutes, to over an hour.

I train beginners to experienced riders and riders who are wanting to learn how to barrel race. I work well with children ages 5 + to Adults. Western riding only. You decide how many lessons are right for you; I offer weekly and one on one lessons with myself. Not only learning how to ride but these lessons include basic horsemanship, care, grooming, safety, maintenance and horse knowledge. Laurie Jarvis

Laurie began riding at the age of 4 in San Diego, CA at one of San Diego’s Premier Hunter Jumper barns. After successfully competing in the Greater San Diego Hunter Jumper Association for more than 12 years, she began riding Dressage at the age of 16 and was lucky enough to train with two Olympic trainers for Dressage and Jumping.

At just 17 years old, Laurie qualified for her first of many Grand Prixs on her horse Allocated Spirit. She has also competed successfully up to 4th level Dressage.

With more than 28 years of riding experience and 14 years of training she believes in teaching core fundamentals. Laurie says “I believe that riding should be both fun and rewarding.
