At HCF we offer a full service boarding and training facility. Our school of riding specializes in hunt seat equitaion, Hunter and Jumper style of riding and we also have some western riding, dressage and cross country jumping. I use Parelli Natural horsemanship techniques and do lots of ground work to get them to accept people as leaders! I teach the horse to respect you as a rider and to engage it’s hindquarters, and to have better flexion and softness. I do round pen work, arena work, and also trail work, mostly w a western saddle. I think a horse to needs be de-sensitized to many environments. I also have a lot of experience with endurance riding, and have an excellent endurance completion record and a lot of knowledge to share about how to successfully get through an endurance ride! It is our desire to help you and your horse compete or just ride at the level you are comfortable with. The beauty of the shows we haul to is that they provide a level for all to compete at their skill and comfort level. There are classes offered all the way from Green as Grass rider to the experienced Non-Pro. Part of your training cost includes a free lesson each week. If you are in the area we would encourage you to come and ride more often to practice what you are learning. Fallon rode her first reining horse in 1999 and this experience immediately had her hooked. She bought her first reining horse from Roger Brazeau, whom she later apprenticed for. She showed that horse for 4 years while still competing in all-around events on her other horses. It took her several years to begin specializing in reining, but Fallon believes that her experience competing in many different disciplines has only improved her knowledge of horses. Fallon has competed in and apprenticed with trainers specializing in working cow horse, cutting, team roping, ranch versatility, western pleasure, western riding, horsemanship, showmanship, hunter under saddle, and hunt seat equitation. She spent 1 year apprenticing with western pleasure trainer, Doug Baucom before moving to Collinsville, TX to apprentice with NRHA Hall of Fame trainer, Roger Brazeau.

Rio Vista Farm, located on the banks of the Colorado River, opened to the public in 1995. The facility quickly became the premier Hunter/Jumper stable of Austin, offering top quality care and professional training for both horse and rider.

Located 3 miles from Austin Airport, within 15 minutes from downtown Austin and the University of Texas, and about 25 minutes from Westlake Hills (with van transportation service available from convenient Westlake location.
Head Trainer Susan McMorris instructs those that own their own horses or are leasing. Boarders sign up for 2 specific group lesson days and times per week. This allows us to group together riders by ability and to limit lesson size. Susan began her professional career in 1984 after graduating from Meredith Manor School of Equestrian Studies. She has operated Hunter/Jumper training/lesson barns since 1985, creating many lesson programs and summer camp operations that have been copied throughout the city. She has taken many riders from summer camp level to year end high point winner in Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation. Rio Vista riders can be seen in the high point standings of local and Texas A shows on a yearly basis.

Assistant Trainers Haylee Morris and Amy Gangstad are available for those students that ride the lesson horses or to beginner rider boarders. Haylee has 15+ years of experience teaching riders of all levels provides her with the knowledge and patience to provide excellent instruction to both first time riders or those with more experience. Amy began her riding career with Susan and upon graduation from St. Edwards University began working as a professional trainer/rider.
Group Lessons: (45 minutes to 1 hour) Available on a monthly basis only. $190 monthly with a $100 deposit for once a week lessons. One month notice required to discontinue lessons. Deposit applied to final month after proper notice is given.

Private Lessons: (45 minutes) $65 for initial introductory private lesson. After initial private, lessons available on a monthly basis only. $330 monthly with a $150 deposit for once a week private lessons.

Vanessa and Patrick Conner have spent their lives riding and working with horses. Vanessa has been training and teaching riding professionally in the Austin area for more than two decades. Vanessa trains riders in the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and eventing. Eventing is the "triathlon" of equestrian sports and consists of dressage, show jumping and cross-country jumping. She is currently working on earning her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) bronze medal. Vanessa is an United States Eventing Association (USEA) Level I Certified Trainer.

The Conners' riding lesson and training program is based on the principles of classical dressage. Vanessa specializes in dressage training and lessons through USDF third level, and she enjoys working with all types of riders and horses. She also teaches jumping lessons through the USEA Preliminary Level (3'6"), and trains riders in the sport of eventing from the Green-as-Grass (beginner) level through Preliminary. Because the Conners' focus on eventing, their program provides lessons in both show jumping and cross-country jumping.

The Conners conduct training at their facility in Liberty Hill, Texas, just 25 minutes northwest of Austin. The Conners host clinics with outside riding clinicians, and Vanessa is also available for clinics, horse show coaching and horse evaluations.
