13 Points Farm is a horse motel and horse boarding facility established 2024 in Winnie, TX. Our mission is to provide a natural and peaceful environment for horses and riders alike. We offer both short term and long term boarding options. Our long term guest are turned out on a large pasture with run-in shelter and horses are brought in overnight in case of bad weather. Our boarders may choose between DIY and full service care. We feed premium grain and hay twice a day. We currently have 4 covered paneled stalls (10’x20’), 1 large run-in shelter (20’x20’), a 60ft round pen, and 4 large pastures for those equines who prefer to be turned out. There are riding trails on and off our property. Beach riding is also available and only 30 minutes away. More stalls and a riding arena will be added in the near future. All fencing is very safe (combination of electric and/or panels). We also count with a 30/50amp hookup for our overnight guest with living quarters and a loop driveway for easy pulling through with your big rig.. BOARDING:

Barn has safe, open concept for optimum ventilation, socialization, and comfort for the horse. Large indoor hallway leads to a 90 x 175 lighted, covered arena. Other amenities include a 350 x 100 outdoor arena; a lighted, covered 45 foot in diameter round pen; a large 100 foot in diameter round pen; lighted, concrete wash rack with hot and cold water; and acres of trail riding.....

Stalls have individual lights, fans, and automatic fly spray systems. The owners have lived on the property for almost 20 years; the barn manager has lived on the property for over 7 years. Both the owners and the barn manager monitor the horses throughout the day and evening to see if they are eating and drinking normally. Horses are turned out daily (weather permitting) into half acre, shaded, individual pens. High quality hay and grain is fed twice a day on a set schedule. Stalls are cleaned six days a week. Trailer parking is available in an all weather, lighted parking lot...

The tack room contains a dehumidifier, air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave and wifi so observers can be comfortable as they watch friends who might be riding outside in inclement weather. An indoor rest room with a shower provides a place where those who come directly from work to ride can change their clothes. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE INTERNSHIPS & COLLEGE CREDIT:

Interns have come from many different states including California, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York. Not all interns are college students, but interns from schools such as Purdue, the University of Maryland, and Northeastern Junior College in Colorado have received college credit from their respective schools.
Brigadoon Farm offers Horsemanship at Alvin Community College. PHED 1145 is a college credit course providing basic information on riding, handling, training, and caring for horses. TRAINING/LESSONS:

Brigadoon Farm focuses on positive reinforcement in training horses. Though the farm raises and trains reining horses, this strategy is effective with all equine disciplines. Basic beginner to advanced riding lessons are offered with refresher courses for those that rode as youngsters and want to get back in the saddle again as adults. Reining lessons are available for those who would like to try a reiner for a “spin”......

Free weekly practice riding and training sessions for boarders are held every Sunday morning. These are videotaped and critiqued are followed by a trip to Joe’s restaurant for brunch. (everyone buys their own omlets!)......
