Dressage Training in Buchanan, Virginia (Botetourt County)

I train Dressage up to 4th level and am capable of progressing a horse and rider from beginner through advanced. My style of riding is rich in emphasizing the basics of good training so that the horse may progress with ease. My knowledge base comes from over 5,000 hours in the saddle on over 500 different types of horses from green to made horses. Classical dressage techniques are used. Also, I use a form of natural horsemanship that is thousands of years old, is cruelty free, safe, and effective! Can't catch your horse in his field? Load him in the trailer? Make him stand for the farrier, or just respect your space? Maybe you want to teach him/her to longe like a civilized horse? Because of my diverse background I excel with "problem" horses and hot horses...but also with a good citizen from any discipline. I can train horses to be very versatile: they know how to go on the trail on steep terrain, jump, cross obstacles, and go on the bit forward and freely with enough obedience to do a 1st level test in 90-150 days.

Harmony Hills Equestrian Center is the home of two FEI level dressage trainers and offers extremely high quality care and training for horses of all ages and breeds. Our trainers have brought mounts up from initial ground training/backing all the way to the FEI levels. This experience includes both warmbloods and non warmbloods including Lusitanos, Arabians, Lippizanners, Saddlebreds, Thoroughbreds, Drafts and Quarter Horses through the upper levels. We have a positive atmosphere and use a wholistic approach to training that emphasizes low stress and positive motivation to train the horses with a healthy mental state. Located in beautiful Southwest Virginia, the facility is just a 10 minute drive from Blacksburg, VA and Virginia Tech. With an excellent safety and health record this facility houses a highly trained staff who takes care to notice any change in the horses daily habits and needs for excellent care at all times of the day. The facility includes ample pasture space for group and private turn out, a large indoor arena (200ft x 80ft), an outdoor jumping arena (200ft x 90ft), stall mats, a matted central barn aisle, two 12ft x 12ft wash stalls, 25 acres of wooded trails, a variety of jumps, an indoor restroom, and a heated and locking boarder tackroom, among other amenities. The large MD Barnmaster barn is zero fire spread, well insulated for the winter, and also well ventilated for the summer. HHEC offers flexible monthly training packages to cater to each clients needs. Training prices range from $125/month for one ride a week to $500/month for 4 rides a week. Individualized Instruction

If you do not have access to a trainer at your farm or your barn, I will come to you!
All you need is a fairly flat spot to ride, big enough that you can comfortably trot or canter. (approx. 60x40 foot minimum)
I am fully insured, and will gladly supply proof of coverage.
If you board, please, make sure your barn owner accepts outside trainers.

I was born, and raised in Sweden
My background contains everything from trail ride guide, to Instructor at a riding school, Individual/Private Instructor , Barn Manager Disciplines I have enjoyed over the years include, Classical Dressage, Baroque Dressage, Working Equitation, Show Jumping, Cross Country riding, Driving,
Hunting, and Ground work on long reins.
