Hi there! I'm a Dressage Rider, Trainer, L Judge and clinician. I am an USDF Bronze & Silver medalist and also an L Program Graduate with Distinction and working on my USEF little r application. I do lots of types of clinics - Ride a Test, Western dressage, Pony Club, etc. I have a pretty unique style in that I work with riders on the ground to get body awareness as I'm also a AFAA certified fitness professional and then work on their position to see how they can influence their horse correctly, kindly and classically without fighting or frustration. Riding is supposed to be FUN! I help riders who want to show find those savvy points they are missing as well as polish the strengths of their horse and maintain the quality of the gaits to present an oh so very lovely picture to the judge. My goal is to foster a love of horsemanship and teach the proper techniques in caring for our equine friends. Students are taught to fully appreciate the responsibilities and rewards of being an equestrian and to develop a life-long respect for horses while learning self discipline, patience, perseverance and self confidence. I offer Western lessons. My students will learn the proper way to behave around horses, how to care for them, how to ride and why things are done the way they are; and to become accomplished, competent and independent riders. On our pony, horse, or yours, we offer horseback riding lessons from the 4 year old lead line student thru adult advanced dressage. We also teach comprehensive horsemanship which includes caring for, grooming and tacking, and untacking the horse after the ride. We teach the classic balanced seat. Taylor started riding at age 5 and as a child was a avid pony club member, including multiple trips to USPC National Championships in multiple disciplines. She attended the University of Connecticut, earning a degree in Animal Science with a specialization in Equine Studies and has taken classes on equitation instruction and light horse training and management.
