We offer saddle seat (English) and some western riding lessons to all levels of riders, from the first lesson to the most advanced rider. You do not have to own your own horse as we have riding programs for the serious show ring competitor as well as for newcomers - even Tiny Tots! In all facets of the learning process, we encourage a strong sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship and fun. We offer adult-only riding groups on Monday evenings. Our heated indoor arena allows us to maintain our lesson schedule year-round.

We would love for you to come and visit us for a tour and watch us give a riding lesson so you can learn first-hand about our program and teaching style. We give lessons Monday through Thursday and on weekends. Please call ahead if you would like to come for a visit.

We also offer camps, birthday parties, Girl Scout and Boy Scout visits to earn badges, boarding and training services. Clients are also welcome to join our Youth Club which meets once a month and participates in horse activities, community service, fun outings, and more!

Cindy, our instructor/trainer/owner, started her 20+ year career showing on the WI/IL dressage circuit. She has shown as such prestigious facilities as Lamplight Equestrian Center and Thistledown Farm. Cindy has studied under many top dressage trainers in the country, including Dominique Barbier, Alex Koynot, Natalie Lamping, Fatima Nelson, and Bodo Hagen. At Phantom Ranch we teach ‘Rider Independence’. This means the student is taught all aspects of horse care, ground work and riding. Students are taught how to catch and groom their horse before the lesson, and how to untack and release their horse after the lesson. Students are challenged to experience different saddle disciplines as well as other styles - driving with our minis, vaulting on our draft horses and navigating our trail obstacle courses in-hand and mounted.

We offer trail rides, week long summer horse camps; Girl Scouts and other group education, horsemanship lessons and volunteer opportunities. We are a ETS host for clinics and competitions. We are currently looking for summer staff who would like to work in a Christian environment and have a passion for training kids with horses.

We believe the more experience a student has with horses on all levels, the better they will understand and communicate with any horse they work with. HISTORY AND GOALS

Kathy’s equine knowledge is derived from a diverse background cultivated from working with an array of individuals.

Kathy started her riding career at the age of 7 on a Shetland pony and moved up to horses with her moms Quarter Horse. Her foundation started with 4-H and she was taught the many values, ethics, and guidelines that she carries with her today. She has successfully competed in 4-H, USEF Hunter/Jumper, AQHA, AHA, Pinto, USDF Dressage, and AWS.
