We are a small, family owned, family and faith oriented farm with a close knit staff and volunteers who are here because they love horses and people. Our classes are small (mostly one on one with an instructor), resulting in close personal attention during lessons. Our horses are tried and true safe lesson horses.Our instructors offer a breadth of experience from eventing, jumping, English equitation, to western pleasure. A relaxed environment for kids and adults to learn riding basics, our emphasis is on a sound balanced seat and a loving confident relationship with the horse. Affordable rates

I've been riding in dressage and eventing for 10+ years, have a background with United States Pony Club, and worked for various barns over the years. This has given me a well rounded experience of teaching, riding, and horse care. I am offering lessons and training to any variety of horses and ponies and people. I've taught 6 y/o to 60+ y/o with varying levels of experience, and I've worked with OTTBs, foals to yearlings, and ponies. In my lessons, I hope to create a conversations where questions are encouraged, and the rider and horse are comfortable and relaxed. Lunar Winds Stables' lesson program is based on training ideals that strengthen bonds and communicate with horses through their mind, voice, emotions, and body language. Through riding, they learn how their seat affects the horse, and learn how to recognize different types of horse behavior and what could be done to make problem behaviors better. Since 1989 I have specialized in working with youth and amateur riders. I started my career riding Western horses with my speciality being All Around/versatility and Trail (show) . During my college years I delved into the world of showing hunter jumpers and there I would spend the next 20+ years showing and competing. 2020 marked my path back into the Western world.
I operate a small lesson barn with a very minimal number of boarders and minimal number of training horses at any one time. If you are interested in training or tune ups, please be aware there my be a waiting list. Lessons are 45$ per hour for most riders. Walk/trot riders 6-8 $35 (30-45 min) Youth 6 and under (leadline) are 30$/ half hour. As of 2022 we will offer video/remote lessons. With a strong emphasis on safetyand solid basics. "At home" programs/lessons are available so you can work on your owns horse or we can problem solve, standard rate +fuel sur charge (max 20 mile distance) Children with ADD/ADHD and high function autism are welcome as my program can me modified to accommodate their specific needs.
