Our school has well trained schooling and performance show horses to enable us to offer all around instruction utilizing AQHA standards. Although there is no pressure to enter the world of showing, the opportunity is there as we have created a forty member competition team serving as a springboard for equestrians to compete on the national circuit.

Shannon Loven-Thompson has over 20 years experience teaching children and training ponies for show and pleasure. Currently, Shannon has a waiting list for new students starting as young as 4 years of age. Our ponies have years of experience teaching beginners and competing at horse shows of all kinds. Students compete regularly and are often among the show leaders. Our students enjoy consistent competition in Eventing, Dressage, State 4-H Horse Shows, Pony Club Championships, GDCTA events, and local hunter shows.

Devon Olivier is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia. She rode on the eventing team while attending college. She was on the 2016 USEA collegiate national championship team. She won the Open Prelim division at FENCE horse trials on 4-17-17 on her horse Karisma. She won the Open Prelim division at Paradise Farms on 2-17-17. Devon has won the individual Gold in the intercollegiate challenge at Chattahoochee Hills horse trials twice while on the UGA eventing team. Devon has trained numerous Off the Track Thoroughbreds and has gone to multiple national competitions with her horses. Devon has been a working student for Michael and Sharon Poulin (Bronze Medal at the Barcelona Olympics in dressage). While there she worked on getting correct and effective dressage training under her belt. She then worked for Mollie Zobel in South Carolina who was an upper level event trainer. Devon has worked with or taken lessons with Doug Payne, Elly Schobel, Michael Poulin, Sharon Poulin, Gwen Poulin. She has taken clinics with Werner Geven, Dom Schramm, Kyle Carter, Leslie Law, Jon Holling just to name a few. Devon offers lessons in dressage, jumpers and eventing. Devon has training privileges at Ashland Farms in Walnut Grove which offers a cross country course from starter thru Prelim. They also have two dressage arenas and a jumping arena. This is the most common response I receive from owner's. At Säker, our mission is simple, no really simple, as in "KISS" (Keep It Surprisingly Simple).

As a student of Säker, you focus on this fundamental principle, "KISS". Why you ask, well I say why not! Most people, especially women (and the horse industry is 2/3rds women), tend to overthink what they consider to be "problems" with their horse. So our mission at Säker is to break down this communication barrier with "KISS". We explain that horse training is 90% common sense (i.e. "Do I really want my horse to do this?"), and 10% know-how ("No, so I will do this instead."). We focus on removing the "emotion factor" (No, your horse is not attempting to drive you mad, well, most of the time.).

"Wait, wait," you say, "But I don't have a horse...". Even better. You get to learn from beginning to end training, care, management, and horse/life lessons without previous influence, and without the barriers put in place by previous riding experiences.
