Devon Olivier is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia. She rode on the eventing team while attending college. She was on the 2016 USEA collegiate national championship team. She won the Open Prelim division at FENCE horse trials on 4-17-17 on her horse Karisma. She won the Open Prelim division at Paradise Farms on 2-17-17. Devon has won the individual Gold in the intercollegiate challenge at Chattahoochee Hills horse trials twice while on the UGA eventing team. Devon has trained numerous Off the Track Thoroughbreds and has gone to multiple national competitions with her horses. Devon has been a working student for Michael and Sharon Poulin (Bronze Medal at the Barcelona Olympics in dressage). While there she worked on getting correct and effective dressage training under her belt. She then worked for Mollie Zobel in South Carolina who was an upper level event trainer. Devon has worked with or taken lessons with Doug Payne, Elly Schobel, Michael Poulin, Sharon Poulin, Gwen Poulin. She has taken clinics with Werner Geven, Dom Schramm, Kyle Carter, Leslie Law, Jon Holling just to name a few. Devon offers lessons in dressage, jumpers and eventing. Devon has training privileges at Ashland Farms in Walnut Grove which offers a cross country course from starter thru Prelim. They also have two dressage arenas and a jumping arena. We have daily lesson programs and teach students after school from Monday thru Fridays and Saturday mornings. We teach classical horsemanship and basic riding skills in walk, trot, canter and jumping.We offer private, semi-private and group lessons. My students will learn the proper way to behave around horses, how to care for them, how to ride and why things are done the way they are; and to become accomplished, competent and independent riders. We are a small family owned farm, offering beginner horse backing lessons for adults, children and the timid. The atmosphere here is casual and inviting and safety is our biggest concern.

We offer Western riding lessons and begin by learning all about a horse and how they think, then we teach you how to groom a horse, how to saddle up a horse, how to ride, then how to unsaddle, cool him down and groom him after the ride. So you understand the experience from beginning to end. You spend time getting to know your lesson horse and of course treats of carrots and apples are always appreciated.
