Red Star Equestrian is a family oriented farm located in Maysville, GA offering beginner and intermediate english and western riding lessons for ages 6 and up. Lessons include learning how to groom brush the horse, saddle, and ride with an emphasis on safety and fun! Instructor Kristin Taylor has been riding horses for over 20 years and instructing for 10 years. She worked at the Lake Lanier Island Equestrian Center for 4 years teaching lessons and leading trail rides. During college she rode for the University of Georgia's Varsity Equestrian Team. Little D Farms is a family oriented farm focused on natural horsemanship and respect for your equine partner. We teach all ages from beginners to intermediate riders, we love children and adults starting out or coming back to the equine world. We focus on building a relationship with your horse, communication, and a balanced riding seat that will stay with a rider their entire life. We teach you about horses from the ground up including; health care, grooming, and tacking. However your lesson time starts from the time you are in the saddle. We specialize in speed events (cloverleaf barrels, texas barrels, arena race, cones, and pole bending) and provide trailering to local shows and JR Rodeo. Our mission is to support self-growth, promote inclusivity and build a connection within the community through animal-assisted activities designed to improve cognitive, social, emotional, and physical functioning. Our program is open to people of any ages and any ability, but our priority goes to those looking for a therapeutic environment. We do not focus on competition and our program participants have a large part in designing their horsemanship journey. This program is not suitable for any rider that is looking to compete in equine sports. We are a small family owned farm, offering beginner horse backing lessons for adults, children and the timid. The atmosphere here is casual and inviting and safety is our biggest concern.

We offer Western riding lessons and begin by learning all about a horse and how they think, then we teach you how to groom a horse, how to saddle up a horse, how to ride, then how to unsaddle, cool him down and groom him after the ride. So you understand the experience from beginning to end. You spend time getting to know your lesson horse and of course treats of carrots and apples are always appreciated.

Through lessons and training on effective, proper communication, control, and position a successful partnership can be developed. We offer lease and 1/2 lease options, as well as showing opportunities. Jaid Stables offers 2 full time instructors, so it is easy to get a lesson or training in.
