Riding lessons are offered for beginners through advanced. All lessons are private and customized to the individual.

Dressage training – intro through FEI levels, using a classical dressage approach. – show prep and coaching also available.

Foundation building for riders of all disciplines (western, huntseat, gaited, etc), using natural horsemanship and classical dressage principles. We focus on:

• Understanding the nature of the horse
• Developing an independent seat and correct use of aids
• Learning timing and feel
• Establishing leadership
• Creating lightness
• Encouraging your horse’s athleticism
• Fostering a true partnership between horse and rider

Especially for beginners and new horse owners, we offer lessons in complete horsemanship – including ground work, fitting of tack, horse health care and management, and more.

A horse trainer and riding instructor for over 40 years, Sandi has extensive experience working with a variety of challenges and unique situations, including:

• Adult beginner riders
• Riders returning after a long break
• Riders dealing with fear and confidence issues
• Horses with a history of abuse and mishandling
• Horses with limited, incomplete, or incorrect training
• Horses of many different breeds and temperaments

$60.00 per private hour on your own horse (boarded here or trailered in); $65 per private hour with one of our lesson horses. For lessons off-site, travel fee applies.

My goal is to foster a love of horsemanship and teach the proper techniques in caring for our equine friends. Students are taught to fully appreciate the responsibilities and rewards of being an equestrian and to develop a life-long respect for horses while learning self discipline, patience, perseverance and self confidence. I offer Western lessons. My students will learn the proper way to behave around horses, how to care for them, how to ride and why things are done the way they are; and to become accomplished, competent and independent riders. My lessons are designed for groups family members or one on one private lessons. I have owned, trained, and given lessons for 14 years. I am creating this new program for home schoolers. Shannon Loven-Thompson has over 20 years experience teaching children and training ponies for show and pleasure. Currently, Shannon has a waiting list for new students starting as young as 4 years of age. Our ponies have years of experience teaching beginners and competing at horse shows of all kinds. Students compete regularly and are often among the show leaders. Our students enjoy consistent competition in Eventing, Dressage, State 4-H Horse Shows, Pony Club Championships, GDCTA events, and local hunter shows.
Shannon enjoys developing a robust group of child safe ponies at a variety of skill levels as well as young riders to enjoy the ponies she trains. Areas of specialization: early youth riders, equitation, dressage, show jumping, three (3) day eventing, and western pleasure.

Owner/Trainer Mrs. Tyler Verlander-Peabody has been riding since before she could walk and has been teaching lessons to children and adults for 15 years. She showed on the local GHJA circuit growing up in Woodstock GA, her experience and training has been with the top GA trainers in the Hunter/Jumper/Equitation discipline. She interned with AA trainers traveling to AA shows all over GA, FL, and the east coast up to Lake Placid, NY. By the time she was 18 years old, she had already successfully managed a 50 person lesson program, summer camp and 20 horse boarding stable. Tyler is an entrepreneur and business woman at heart and utilizes her marketing and management education from KSU to strive in her business. She has trained and sold numerous horses that have gone on to AA show homes and beloved owners. Tyler is passionate about being an advocate for both horse and ride, her students appreciate her detail oriented lessons with safe forward progress each time. Her boarders appreciate her 30 years of equine experience and horse management and trust her top notch care, stemming from her life motto "Leave it better than you found it".

Luella Stables offers boarding, lessons for the beginner and intermediate rider and trail riding for all ages and requires no prior experience to participate. Lessons are offered Monday through Thursday. We specialize in first time riders and molding each student into all around equestrians. Students experience grooming, saddling, feeding, bathing and more about the overall experience of owning a horse. Students are welcome at the age of 4 and 5 but they are truly capable of gaining the most at ages 6 and up. I suggest our Friday night rides to children younger than 6 and please bring the entire family! It's only $10 per person for a 20 minute trail ride. We offer this every Friday 4:30 to dark.
