Since 1972, MacNair's Country Acres has been boarding horses and teaching horseback riding. Our Hunter/Jumper/Dressage facility is located on 280 acres, minutes from downtown Raleigh, NC.

We offer boarding, training, lessons and showing, both on and off the farm and we compete at local through USEF AA shows.

For those without a horse, our Riding School lesson horses and ponies have a variety of specialties. Our beginner animals are patient and dependable and our upper level horses help more advanced riders further their goals.

We are a private horse farm and rescue offering Riding Lessons, Training, and Boarding. We teach beginner to advanced English and Western riding lessons. Offering private beginner riding lessons to children and adults in the English discipline.

Lessons focus on flatwork to develop and fine tune seat/ leg aids. Students have the option to learn jumping, ground driving and dressage once they have developed a strong foundation in horsemanship and aids.

I believe in giving students clear instructions, just as the horse would like from their rider. Students will begin on a lunge line to develop feeling and connection with the horse. Once the student shows they are able to control the horse with the use of their body versus their hands, they will graduate to riding off the lunge line. Clear cues are difficult to implement when you are expected to juggle body position, weight balancing, correct aids, direction and speed before knowing what you are doing. When solid foundations are built, riders will excel with advancements with ease!

Additionally, students may choose to spend partial or whole lessons to learn about horse care, anatomy and grooming/ show grooming.

Bright Star Stables offers therapeutic riding lessons, hippotherapy, and the opportunity for compete in equine events. Currently accepting Intermediate/advanced students only - this means riders that are able to walk, trot, canter, and catch/tack up their own horses. We have a dynamic space on an 11 acre farm with a talented, diversified, animated, entertaining instructor, specializing in teaching fun, exciting lessons to established equestrians. Come ride in a beautiful area with woods, trails, giant open fields, on wonderful horses. We have loads of cross country jumps, hills, wide open spaces, lots of fun!!

Lessons are $80 each, small group lessons with up to 5 riders. We do accept haul-in lessons if you want to bring your own horse.
