Bright Star Stables is a non-profit therapeutic riding center. The program serves both the physically and mentally disable communities. Bright Star Stables offers therapeutic riding lessons, hippotherapy, and the opportunity for compete in equine events. Students will be taught equine care, riding, handling, and management to their best level of ability. Students will also be involved to the level of their ability, skill, and interest in competition and training horses.
Therapeutic lessons are conducted at a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified facility located in Rougemont, NC. These lessons teach individuals horsemanship skills which allow them to potentially compete in locally and nationally recognized horse events in both Western riding, as well as English riding disciplines. Instruction is offered to students of all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels. Whether they have physical, cognitive, sensory or emotional disabilities, they benefit from riding and working with the horses at our center.
