Hoofbeats in Harmony's Horsemanship Academy is one of a kind! All students entering the program start at Level 1 and graduate after Level 10. Students progress through the levels at their own speed, earning achievement awards when they level up. Each level is divided into 6 categories: Horse Care – Riding – Ground Work – Liberty Training – Physical Fitness – Equine Literature. It is necessary for the student to pass the required tasks in all 6 categories of horsemanship in order move up a level.

When students pass a level, they will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and a patch unique to the level passed that will go on their Hoofbeats in Harmony vest. Students are encouraged to wear their vests to their lessons to showcase their accomplishments.

Bright Star Stables is a non-profit therapeutic riding center. The program serves both the physically and mentally disable communities. Bright Star Stables offers therapeutic riding lessons, hippotherapy, and the opportunity for compete in equine events. Students will be taught equine care, riding, handling, and management to their best level of ability. Students will also be involved to the level of their ability, skill, and interest in competition and training horses.

Therapeutic lessons are conducted at a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified facility located in Rougemont, NC. These lessons teach individuals horsemanship skills which allow them to potentially compete in locally and nationally recognized horse events in both Western riding, as well as English riding disciplines. My name is Wyatt McCoy I am 15 years old and live in Cove City NC. My family has had our farm ever since the 1800s we have raised cattle since the 1940s and we have always loved horses. I started riding horses about 6 years ago and I have always loved and wanted to care for horses and teach the next generation of horsemen and women. I currently have 4 horses of my own and am teaching lessons I have trained horses, I have worked with problem horses. I love working with problem horses because I love giving them a chance that someone else might not give them I have always loved to work with rescue horses and one of my horses is a rescue horse that me and my kids are working with to become a lesson horse for them to ride. I have done both Western and English. I have worked with all sorts of horses, the slowest that come and very green horses. I am also willing to board your horse as well. Welcome to Spurling’s Hidden Treasures Riding Academy! You’re new home for horseback riding lessons for adults and children ages 6 and up! I was the original horseback riding instructor of Gallberry Stables in Hope Mills, NC and have moved to my own facility with a new name!

My name is Tiffany Spurling and I have been riding Horses for over 22 years and training horses and riders alike for the better part of 14 years now. Throughout that time I have acquired my own horses that are very good with the most beginner riders to the most advanced riders.

I offer my services to beginners through advanced. I have taught many riding styles such as Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, other Speed/Fun Events, Hunter/Jumper, Show Jumping, Cross-Country/ Eventing, Equitation, and Dressage. HAUL INS FOR LESSONS ARE WELCOME!

I do not claim to be a "certified" trainer, however, I have had many people tell me they have learned more in one lesson with me than they have in a year with a "certified" trainer. In the horseworld, just because one is certified does not mean they are the most knowledgeable. Most good trainers have had a lot of experience and never think they are too old or advanced to learn something new.

I have also worked under and trained horses with Cutting Horse Champion Jerry King. However, I do not offer cutting lessons. I learned from him how to start a horse from the ground up and how to train problem horses as well with great success.

We participate in local shows and take part in events at the Carolina Horse Park and many other show venues. We have a very family friendly environment so come join us in the equestrian experience!
