Fascination Farm has been caring for horses and their riders in the Triangle since 1993. We are a small stable, providing the services of a much larger facility.

At Chestnut Lane we specialize in Saddleseat riding and driving for both pleasure and competition for children and adults at every skill level, beginner through advanced. In our riding program, our knowledgeable and friendly instructors tailor lessons to each student. Lessons are taught in our spacious indoor arena as well as our large, outdoor arena as weather permits. Family, friends and clients can relax and enjoy watching lessons from our climate-controlled observation room.

Come ride with us! Sunset Ridge offers lessons for all levels and ages in Hunters, Jumpers and Dressage! We travel to to local schooling shows as well as rated shows as well as offer spots on our Interscholastic Equestrian Team.
Family is the most important thing at Sunset Ridge, and we view each horse, customer, and visitor as part of our extended family and so we take care of them just as we would our own. We believe that the equestrian world isn't just about lessons and showing, we believe that it is about truly enjoying our horses and eachother. We do this by not only providing the best care and instruction possible but by scheduling fun events both inside and outside of the barn.
Meet Our Head Trainer:
Diane DeRienzis has 25 yrs. experience teaching, training and barn management. She started her riding career on Long Island in New York where she competed as a junior, amateur and professional in Hunters, Equitation and Jumpers. Her goal is to instill confidence and skill in her riders so that they can connect with their horses in a successful partnership whether their goal is to show on the A circuit or to pleasure ride.
"I believe that everyone at any age can learn, and I welcome children as well as
adults."

Charissa Loftin has been a part of the equestrian world since the age of 8 when she began taking lessons at TTC in Mocksville, NC. Growing up she succesfully competed on the A Circuit and later decided to become a trainer. Charissa has enjoyed teaching riders of all ages and levels for over 20 years and says that the most inspirational part of teaching is watching a rider accomplish something that they didnt thing was possible, no matter how small an accomplishment it is. Charissa believes that every day is a learning experience and that she learns just as much from her students and horses as they learn from herWe are excited to have Charissa join our Sunset Ridge family and help take our students to the next level in the Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation rings.

Lynn O. Boon, BHSAI began riding as a child at the Inverclyde Riding Center in Scotland. She was a working pupil at the center and grew through the ranks of Pony Club while competing in one day events. At 15 years old, she was commissioned to begin the riding program for the Earl of Glasgow at Kelburn Estates. She was the Stable Manager and Head Instructor for several years, and provided the start to what is now a thriving equestrian center. Lynn became a working student for the BHSAI at Bowfield Riding and Country Club, where she worked with Point-to-Point racehorses as part of her program. Lynn believes that "Dressage is a journey every horse and rider should take" and has used this montra in training her students on a variety of horses from Standardbred to Holstiener across the United States. Lynns 30+ years of experience training horses and riders has brought her to Sunset Ridge where she will be teaching lower (through 1st level) dressage. Lynn plans to spread her "dressage is for everyone" message while introducing the foundations of dressage to riders old and young, and horses of every breed and from every discipline. In addition to classic Dressage Lynn will also be teaching Western and Gaited Dressage to those who are interested.

Leah Barnes is one of our most competent and caring trainers, she specializes with tending to and schooling our youngest riders. At Shea Rose Farm, faithfully serving the Marvin/Waxhaw area for 30 years, we strive to provide a comprehensive equestrian program to develop confidence, competence, and compassion in our students. Our lessons include ring and trail riding, jumping, dressage, driving, drill team, vaulting (gymnastics on horses- our competitive vaulting team is NC first team, started 25 years ago), ground work, and games. We take trips with our horses to the mountains, beach, and even fox hunting in Aiken. We offer Horse Boarding, Western Style Riding Lessons, Barrel Racing Training, & Horse Training all By a Multi time National Barrel Horse Qualifier & 3-Time Finalist.

Lisa Abernathy will provide quality instruction for beginner through advanced riders in English and Western, or on Gaited Horses.

All Lessons last approximately 1 hour. Private Lessons are $45 and Group Lessons are $35. Cash or Check is accepted. The first lesson is always private so that I can evaluate the riders skill and select an appropriate horse. Once the rider demonstrates proper balance, posture, and riding aides at the walk and trot they may move to a group lesson if available.

Abernathy Farm's lessons are geared toward preparing you for horse ownership. We will teach you how to safely catch, groom, and tack up your horse, in addition to the fundamentals of riding. Abernathy Farm offers adult and youth lessons for ages age 5 and up. Private or Group lessons can also be scheduled. Group lessons consist of 2 to 4 riders. This is perfect for friends, siblings, or parents and children who want to learn how to ride together.

Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown. Traveling Trainer services are offered on a limited basis within the Triangle. Trailer-In lessons are also welcome at either facility.

Kylie Barrows has many years experience competing in dressage and eventing. Training and lessons are offered to horses and riders of all experience levels, with an emphasis on kind and correct training principles, safety, and fun. Kylie and her horse Ascot competed very successfully at the Preliminary level, and Kylie now is focused on training horses and coaching her students to advance.
