Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown. Traveling Trainer services are offered on a limited basis within the Triangle. Trailer-In lessons are also welcome at either facility.

Lessons are taught by a certified American Riding Instructor, with over 26 years of experience competing, training, teach and showing all over the midwest and east coast. All level riders are welcome, beginners through advanced, ages 5 years old and up. Our program offers some of the safest, most competitive lesson horses and ponies in the area. Kylie Barrows has many years experience competing in dressage and eventing. Training and lessons are offered to horses and riders of all experience levels, with an emphasis on kind and correct training principles, safety, and fun. Kylie and her horse Ascot competed very successfully at the Preliminary level, and Kylie now is focused on training horses and coaching her students to advance. Our goal at Castle French Farm is to introduce people to horses. In educating you about these amazing animals, we hope to inspire respect, admiration and passion for the sport and recreation of horseback riding. While taking lessons at Castle French Farm, you will receive outstanding goal oriented instruction and personal attention in your quest to learn about horses. We teach the American system of forward riding and encourage students from all levels ages 7 and up to learn and develop their own personal horsemanship skills. If you or your child has never touched a horse, but is horse crazy, we can help you/them gain the confidence and skill-set required to safely handle them. An Evaluation Lesson is required for each new student. The evaluation lesson serves as an introduction to our riding program.
