Bridget O’Neill began riding almost as soon as she could walk. As she grew older, she spent long days at the barn learning the art of horsemanship through trail riding, western pleasure shows, and riding huntseat for versatility competitions. In her early teens she moved on to hunter jumper, successfully competing at the C, A, and AA circuits. She currently trains and competes in eventing, dressage, and jumpers.

Bridget enjoys working with riders of all ages and abilities. Safety and a solid foundation are the important components of her lesson program. She believes wholeheartedly in the value and establishing strong basic skills in her students. As riders progress under her guidance, they gain insight into the complex relationship between horse and rider. Bridget develops riders who are well-rounded in total horsemanship and who know how to thoroughly care for their horses and equipment in addition to riding competently no matter what discipline they select.

Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown. Traveling Trainer services are offered on a limited basis within the Triangle. Trailer-In lessons are also welcome at either facility.

Lessons are taught by a certified American Riding Instructor, with over 26 years of experience competing, training, teach and showing all over the midwest and east coast. Kylie Barrows has many years experience competing in dressage and eventing. Training and lessons are offered to horses and riders of all experience levels, with an emphasis on kind and correct training principles, safety, and fun. Ashley Kriegel is an instructor new to the area and she is currently a working student for world-renowned eventer Holly Hudspeth. Ashley specializes in eventing and currently competes at the Intermediate level with her own horse. She is an HB graduate of Pony Club and has been teaching and training horses since she was 15. Bright Star Stables is a non-profit therapeutic riding center. The program serves both the physically and mentally disable communities. Bright Star Stables offers therapeutic riding lessons, hippotherapy, and the opportunity for compete in equine events. Students will be taught equine care, riding, handling, and management to their best level of ability. Students will also be involved to the level of their ability, skill, and interest in competition and training horses.

Therapeutic lessons are conducted at a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified facility located in Rougemont, NC. These lessons teach individuals horsemanship skills which allow them to potentially compete in locally and nationally recognized horse events in both Western riding, as well as English riding disciplines. We offer Western Pleasure riding lessons to students ages 5 through adults in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. We want our students to discover the joy of riding and learn the care and responsiblity involved in owning a horse. We also offer summer day camps for children ages 5 and up that focus on basic horsemanship and horse care. Welcome to Spurling’s Hidden Treasures Riding Academy! You’re new home for horseback riding lessons for adults and children ages 6 and up! I was the original horseback riding instructor of Gallberry Stables in Hope Mills, NC and have moved to my own facility with a new name!

My name is Tiffany Spurling and I have been riding Horses for over 22 years and training horses and riders alike for the better part of 14 years now. Throughout that time I have acquired my own horses that are very good with the most beginner riders to the most advanced riders.

I offer my services to beginners through advanced. I have taught many riding styles such as Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, other Speed/Fun Events, Hunter/Jumper, Show Jumping, Cross-Country/ Eventing, Equitation, and Dressage. HAUL INS FOR LESSONS ARE WELCOME!

I do not claim to be a "certified" trainer, however, I have had many people tell me they have learned more in one lesson with me than they have in a year with a "certified" trainer. In the horseworld, just because one is certified does not mean they are the most knowledgeable. Most good trainers have had a lot of experience and never think they are too old or advanced to learn something new.

I have also worked under and trained horses with Cutting Horse Champion Jerry King. However, I do not offer cutting lessons. I learned from him how to start a horse from the ground up and how to train problem horses as well with great success.

We participate in local shows and take part in events at the Carolina Horse Park and many other show venues. We have a very family friendly environment so come join us in the equestrian experience!
