Our goal at Castle French Farm is to introduce people to horses. In educating you about these amazing animals, we hope to inspire respect, admiration and passion for the sport and recreation of horseback riding. While taking lessons at Castle French Farm, you will receive outstanding goal oriented instruction and personal attention in your quest to learn about horses. We teach the American system of forward riding and encourage students from all levels ages 7 and up to learn and develop their own personal horsemanship skills. If you or your child has never touched a horse, but is horse crazy, we can help you/them gain the confidence and skill-set required to safely handle them. If you or your child is experienced, we have well-schooled horses and to meet the challenge of your/their continued riding and horsemanship growth. An Evaluation Lesson is required for each new student. The evaluation lesson serves as an introduction to our riding program. In this lesson, an instructor can assess the student's riding abilities, allowing the rider to be placed in an appropriate skill level. Following the evaluation, the instructor will discuss the student's abilities, needs, and goals, and establish a personalized riding program. Since 1972, MacNair's Country Acres has been boarding horses and teaching horseback riding. Our Hunter/Jumper/Dressage facility is located on 280 acres, minutes from downtown Raleigh, NC.

We offer boarding, training, lessons and showing, both on and off the farm and we compete at local through USEF AA shows.

For those without a horse, our Riding School lesson horses and ponies have a variety of specialties. Our beginner animals are patient and dependable and our upper level horses help more advanced riders further their goals.

Offering private beginner riding lessons to children and adults in the English discipline.

Lessons focus on flatwork to develop and fine tune seat/ leg aids. Students have the option to learn jumping, ground driving and dressage once they have developed a strong foundation in horsemanship and aids.

I believe in giving students clear instructions, just as the horse would like from their rider. Students will begin on a lunge line to develop feeling and connection with the horse. Once the student shows they are able to control the horse with the use of their body versus their hands, they will graduate to riding off the lunge line. Clear cues are difficult to implement when you are expected to juggle body position, weight balancing, correct aids, direction and speed before knowing what you are doing. When solid foundations are built, riders will excel with advancements with ease!

Additionally, students may choose to spend partial or whole lessons to learn about horse care, anatomy and grooming/ show grooming.

Hoofbeats in Harmony's Horsemanship Academy is one of a kind! All students entering the program start at Level 1 and graduate after Level 10. Students progress through the levels at their own speed, earning achievement awards when they level up. Each level is divided into 6 categories: Horse Care – Riding – Ground Work – Liberty Training – Physical Fitness – Equine Literature. It is necessary for the student to pass the required tasks in all 6 categories of horsemanship in order move up a level.

When students pass a level, they will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and a patch unique to the level passed that will go on their Hoofbeats in Harmony vest. Students are encouraged to wear their vests to their lessons to showcase their accomplishments.

Bright Star Stables is a non-profit therapeutic riding center. The program serves both the physically and mentally disable communities. Bright Star Stables offers therapeutic riding lessons, hippotherapy, and the opportunity for compete in equine events. Students will be taught equine care, riding, handling, and management to their best level of ability. Students will also be involved to the level of their ability, skill, and interest in competition and training horses.

Therapeutic lessons are conducted at a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified facility located in Rougemont, NC. Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown.
