Kim Yotko is an A.R.I.A. certified instructor in both Hunt Seat and Dressage. She has been teaching since 1976 on our own quality horses and ponies. Kim has quite a comprehensive background in riding. As a junior she rode at the esteemed Jane Dillon's Junior Equitation School, as well as being a member of the United States Pony Club. More recently, Kim Has received further Dressage training in Germany, Portugal, and Spain under the tutelage of world class instructors and Olympians. Greatness in the saddle by Skylar Evans focuses on equine nutrition, performance training in hunter jumper, English, and western and Gaited, as well as working with the unruly horse. Greatness in the saddle offers equine nutrition plans on a budget and lessons for beginners to the most experienced show riders. Hello everyone! Wanted to introduce the new and upcoming English and Western training facility in the heart of Spotslyvania Virgina. We are a work in progress but have BIG goals and need your help to get there! We have now put in our arena! Working on getting a few jumps as well to start with. As of now we are offering the following:
-Ring Rental
-30/60/90 day horse training program
-Trailer your horse in for lessons
-Working students ( I have a few horses I want to use for lessons but they need some more experienced riders to work them. Lessons are free on these horses!)

Skyline Stables features affordable boarding, riding lessons and guided trail rides for the non-competitive rider. We understand that not everyone prefers a show barn. We help you take care of your horse providing them with daily care and green pastures to keep them healthy and happy. We focus on quality care for your horses and a relaxed, enjoyable environment for our riders.

We are one of a few facilities still offering hourly guided trail rides in the New River Valley. Breath taking trails take you from mountain-top pasture down to the New River. Our riding lessons for English or Western disciplines are given by experienced horsewomen, with no yelling or stressful interaction. Our goal is to create better horsemen/women as well as competent, confident riders.

Self care pasture board starts at $150/month. Boarders enjoy our full size indoor arena for bad weather riding, a convenient outdoor arena, a new round pen planned for spring 2013 and over 500 acres of scenic trails over mountaintop pasture, through dense woodlands, leading right down to the New River.

Our friendly and relaxed atmosphere and wonderful clientele will welcome you and your horse. New boarders quickly feel at home and part of “the family”. There is always someone to hit the trails with. We grow our own quality mix of alfalfa and timothy and alfalfa and orchard grass right here on the farm. On-site owners Matt & JB oversee the daily care of your horse.

We are conveniently located 1.5 miles from Radford University and 15 miles from Virginia Tech. Only 4 miles from Interstate 81, and 12 minutes from Christiansburg.
