We offer Western Pleasure riding lessons to students ages 5 through adults in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. We want our students to discover the joy of riding and learn the care and responsiblity involved in owning a horse. We also offer summer day camps for children ages 5 and up that focus on basic horsemanship and horse care. My name is Wyatt McCoy I am 15 years old and live in Cove City NC. My family has had our farm ever since the 1800s we have raised cattle since the 1940s and we have always loved horses. I started riding horses about 6 years ago and I have always loved and wanted to care for horses and teach the next generation of horsemen and women. I currently have 4 horses of my own and am teaching lessons I have trained horses, I have worked with problem horses. I love working with problem horses because I love giving them a chance that someone else might not give them I have always loved to work with rescue horses and one of my horses is a rescue horse that me and my kids are working with to become a lesson horse for them to ride. I have done both Western and English. I have worked with all sorts of horses, the slowest that come and very green horses. I am also willing to board your horse as well. Welcome to EQUES Academy.
Our academy is based on a structured program that has proven and applied itself for the past 30+ years. We called it EQUES rider. This program is based on level. The student start at Rider 1, and will work to achieve their Rider 4 certification. Each student will learn and practice the skills necessary to graduate to the next level.
Our mission is to teach our riders to become better horsemen and horsewomen. Horse care, proper body position, safety around horses and body control are some examples of what our program teaches. Each Student will learn and apply important skills that can be used in any discipline they would like to pursue.
EQUES Academy will concentrate their program on building skillful and mindful riders, using the wide range of skills and techniques that they will practice during their lessons.
