I did high school rodeo when I was in high school and was a world qualifier for the NBHA. I also took riding classes for English and western in college. I was also the EQ director for a couple summers of a YMCA camp.

Horse Lover's Club: A Fun club of horse loving kids who are learning the basics of the animals we all love. We will explore the different varieties of riding through an hour group riding lesson. Then we will return to the barn, and our instructor will lead a fun, interactive horse science class that will improve your knowledge on anatomy, safety, care, barn management, and much more.
Note: This is a fun, beginner level educational session, participants may have a few take home assignments that they will be scheduled to bring back to their club meeting the next week.

Day Camp:
School is out? We are open! Join us during school breaks - Join us and our four-legged friends for a day of riding, fun, and meet new friends. SPACE IS LIMITED, SIGN UP AND RESERVE YOUR SPOT TODAY! Additional information can be found on our scheduling page or through Facebook.

We begin our day riding riding English or Western it is up to you. Not sure, or first time riding? Not a problem! Our instructor will be happy to assist you in choosing After riding, and our horses are bathed, and cooled, we break under the shade of the barn for our first hands-on Horse Science Lesson. What is a better way to learn than hands-on with our equine friends? Riders will learn the aspects of grooming, nutrition, anatomy, horse care, veterinary care, and much more during this session.

In the afternoon we break for lunch and cool down in the A/C or under one of our large oak trees. In the mid-afternoon Riders will work with their assigned Project Horse and participate in the various activities (show grooming, bathing, clipping, etc.)

In the late afternoon our riding sessions pick up again to include horseback games, or bareback riding.... See More

I am a USDF Silver Medalist and have had the opportunity to train horses from birth through Grand Prix dressage and everything in between. I have been training horses for over 15 years and have worked with a USDF Gold Medalist and "R" judge for over 10 years. I have successfully started many young horses under-saddle, and have had the privilege to bring several of them past Fourth Level so far, scoring in the 70's at every level along the way.. Most notably training the imported German Warmblood stallion Blue Eyed Dream GF from a gangly three year old to competing together in Intermediare-1 dressage with scores as high as 76%, I have worked with many different trainers throughout the years and look forward to sharing my knowledge with the horse community in the central florida area and beyond. Anvil Acres is a full service facility. We have instructors in several different disciplines available with well trained lesson horses. We are able to offer a variety of levels of training from beginners looking for a solid foundation, through show ring presentation at advanced levels. We have an all grass jump course, a 20 x 60 meter dressage arena, a large clay arena and we also have an area with western trail obstacles.
