USPC certified riding instructor of children and adults of all ages on my horse or your own. My 18 lovely horses live here at my private ranch 2 miles off Rt. 15 in Poway/Ranch Bernardo. My teaching has an emphasis on balanced safe riding in the arena, over fences, on the trail and in local shows. Disciplines include Hunter/Jumper, Equitation, Horse trials, Dressage, Pleasure, Trail riding, and very importantly; good Horsemanship. We are located in the little paradise of Valle Verde Ranch in Poway, with a large arena with colorful jumps, and lovely trails going to Blue Sky, Lake Poway and Old Coach. Silver Spur Stables is one of the oldest barns in Glendale, California. Next to the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and adjacent to Griffith Park Trails, while it offers boarding and lessons, it is currently hiring for equestrian trainers for it's equestrian summer day camp for children. Day camp till operate through June-September, Mondays through Friday, between the hours of 8am-5pm. Silver Spur Stables is in the need of two riding instructors who will also act as day camp counselors for children ages 8-15 years. In addition to riding lessons the position will include being a counselor lead in the afternoon for off-camp activities including games, ice cream, local museums, etc. There is opportunity to work throughout the year at seasonal children's riding camps and lessons as well.
