Magowan Ranch is a true "all-around" horse operation. We are located at Scottsdale Rd & Dynamite (off Loop 101 & Scottsdale Rd in north Scottsdale). Our trainers/instructors offer a variety of disciplines such as basic riding skills / recreational trail riding (for beginners to intermediate), barrel racing and gaming events (gymkhana), dressage, driving, and more! Our instructor is friendly, polite, and a true professional with more than 20 years of experience. We accept riders age 4 and up; we specialize in pre-teens, teens, and adults! Riders learn to ride properly, not just kick and yank on their horse. We strive to create correct, happy riders with a horse who is a willing partner. I have ponies for young children, starting at 2 years of age and small horses for people wanting to learn to ride or who have fear issues they would like to overcome.. Children must wear helmets.

My goal is to teach children and adults to learn how to ride with confidence and skill. The first criteria is everything is done in the safest manner possible for both student and horse.
Everyone learns from the ground up and at their own speed. We have lots of fun things for children to do such as pony camps, games, and special events. Trail riding for adults. The horses are size appropriate ranging from Shetland ponies up to 14'3" You can bring your horse if you would like to work with him. We will take students as young as 2 and you are never too old.

If you are an adult and want to learn to ride for the first time, we'd be happy to teach you. If you rode years ago and want to ride again but would like to renew your skills, we will help you. If you have encountered some fear because of an accident but want to work through it and get back on your horse, we can get that done.

I have over 30 years experience in training both horses and people with a multitude of references. Many of our riders have gone on to big competitions. I can help you with almost any horse skill or problem.
