Lyric Street Farm is an elite, hunter-jumper training, boarding, showing and sales facility. We offer lessons from lead line to grand prix to riders who wish to specialize in hunter, jumpers or equitation or to those who just wish to learn about horses and horsemanship. We offer a traditional European education for both horse and rider and believe riding is best taught traditionally in a calm and patient manner. We offer 2 trainers...Sarah Eiland has over 40 years of experience training and showing hunters, jumpers and equitation. She was the head of Judson College's riding program and equine science program in the 80's and 90's and has taken student to show from West Palm to Arizona and on to win many championships on the 4-H, local, "A" circuit and AQHA show levels! We are a small facility that focuses on beginner riders, as well as those who desire to show in the hunters and jumpers. We are active on the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association circuit, and have horses available for show opportunities and half leases.
If needed, we can also come to you for instruction.
With over 25 years of horse experience, trainer Sarah Maxwell has become a certified riding instructor, and is able to boast helping many riders up the levels of horsemanship.
Pony parties and camps are also available throughout the year!

Melanie Williams is an accomplished competitor, trainer, teacher and coach. She specializes in working with individuals with special needs or challenges. As the program director of Therapeutic Riding of Tuscaloosa, she is specially qualified to teach all riders. 1. Basic Dressage Package: offered once weekly for 10 weeks.

2. Show Package: Lessons in Dressage and Showing. During show season riders learn everything needed to show and participate in schooling shows to accumulate points for show awards and year end awards. These shows are located within the state.

I provide one on one basic horseback lessons for beginners and children. I don't have fancy facilities and won't charge you like I do. I begin with safety on the ground and grooming and proceed to riding. I have one horse that is beginner safe. Helmet is not provided or required but allowed. I teach in a WESTERN saddle. I am willing to travel for people who own their own horse. I can also do basic training and conditioning. I will also consider bringing a horse to a birthday party or event. We are a small welsh pony breeding operation located in Wetumpka al. We are a private farm and sadly rarely if ever offer boarding opportunities.

We do however have a herd of amazing welsh ponies and do occasionally offer riding lessons (only a few students at a time). We specialize in hunter jumper ponies and beginners. We also offer our ponies to short term show leases when they are not with foals (typically august-feb). Our farm is small quiet and just the right sort of haven for young timid students looking to get a solid foundation without being one of many students.
