At Mahalo Farm in Earlysville, VA, we provide riding and carriage driving lessons for children and adults. Hunter-jumper, western, dressage and combined driving disciplines are offered as well as basic horsemanship skills for recreational riders who just want to trail ride or have fun. Our approach to riding is based on a strong foundation of natural horsemanship methods, Alexander Technique and Pilates, balanced seat, minimal aids, consideration of the horse and fun and safety for the rider. Private and semi-private lessons are offered as well as longer 1/2 day and full day lesson programs or trail rides during weekends, holidays and vacations. We also go to several local shows each year, attend several hunter paces and even go fox hunting several times a year.
For experienced riders, we offer partial leases of our well-trained and well-behaved horses. It's almost like owning a horse without all the extra expenses. It's a great way to enjoy horses, see the Virginia countryside from horseback and know that someone else is caring for the horses when you aren't around.
We also offer field boarding to a limited number of horses. All pastures have run-in sheds, fresh water and shade. Organic principles are followed throughout the farm including feeding organically/transitionally grown hay during the winter.
Need your horse or pony trained to drive or want a better shoulder-in on your horse, we can help you. We accept a very limited number of horses for training.

Little Pond Farm offers English/Hunter lessons to children and adults of all ages on our horses or yours. Beginners to advanced riders welcome. We offer a quiet and fun atmosphere where you can take a leisurely stroll through the neighboring fields and trails or practice for the shows in our large sand arena. Kelsey is an upper level eventing rider who recently moved to the Hanover area and is looking for some new students! Kelsey has competed her 2 horses from their first event to the CCI* and intermediate levels. She also has experience in dressage, jumpers, 4H, and polocrosse. Kelsey takes students to local horse trials and 4H shows, including the state 4H Championships. She can travel and accommodates trailer ins (has a nice set of show jumps and a handful of XC fences on her farm, with a dressage ring in the works).
