Mahalo Farm / Riding Instructor in Earlysville, Virginia

At Mahalo Farm in Earlysville, VA, we provide riding and carriage driving lessons for children and adults. Hunter-jumper, western, dressage and combined driving disciplines are offered as well as basic horsemanship skills for recreational riders who just want to trail ride or have fun. Our approach to riding is based on a strong foundation of natural horsemanship methods, Alexander Technique and Pilates, balanced seat, minimal aids, consideration of the horse and fun and safety for the rider. Private and semi-private lessons are offered as well as longer 1/2 day and full day lesson programs or trail rides during weekends, holidays and vacations. We also go to several local shows each year, attend several hunter paces and even go fox hunting several times a year.
For experienced riders, we offer partial leases of our well-trained and well-behaved horses. It's almost like owning a horse without all the extra expenses. It's a great way to enjoy horses, see the Virginia countryside from horseback and know that someone else is caring for the horses when you aren't around.
We also offer field boarding to a limited number of horses. All pastures have run-in sheds, fresh water and shade. Organic principles are followed throughout the farm including feeding organically/transitionally grown hay during the winter.
Need your horse or pony trained to drive or want a better shoulder-in on your horse, we can help you. We accept a very limited number of horses for training.
