Riding Lessons

Our lessons are customized to your interests, ability, and past experiences. Whether you are taking lessons on one of our horse(s) or yours, We instill the understanding of the proper cues, riding positions, and communication between the horse and rider. Most of all we make lessons fun and educational for both children and adults to enjoy.

Horse Training Lessons

Do you have trouble with your horse? Loading into the trailer or can’t get the correct lead in the show ring? We can most definitely help! We are able to travel a small distance to you or you are more than welcome to come to our farm. In these lessons are personalized to you and your horse situation.

$40.00 an hour, that includes travel time (1 hour minimum)

- Half board and training at $800 per month include 5 training sessions per week, shavings, mucking stall, fresh water and turning horses in and out of paddocks for you. Hay, Grain, Ferrier, Vet services, Rotational worming and additional nutritional supplements etc. are provided at owner expense.

- Colt Starting/ Re-Starting @ $750 a month (must commit to 2-3 months minimum)

Are you looking to rehome your horse but just don’t know where to start? You not have time out of you busy schedule to meet potential buyers? Are you overwhelmed with project horses and it needs a few weeks in training/starting. Let us take care of that for you! What’s included:

Second Wind Farm LLC is a fully equipped horse boarding facility located on 80+ acres in Thompsons Station, TN. We are located off 840 approximately 15 minutes south of Franklin, TN, 30 south of Nashville, TN, and 30 minutes east of Murfreesboro. We have openings in our newly renovated 12 stall barn as well as our pastures.

The barn is equipped with a heated tack room with individual tack closets, wash racks, bathroom and lounge. We have two arenas. One for English events and one for cattle and speed events. We have on-site instruction for both English and Western disciplines. We are located on 80+ pristine acres which gives ample room to ride without leaving the premises.

We specialize in team roping, barrel racing, ranch sorting and trail riding. Transportation to events and shows can be arranged as well as full service trailer care and repair.

Full board includes daily turn out, grain, free access to quality hay and fresh water, daily stall cleaning, full use of facilities and assistance with farrier and vet care. Pastures are carefully managed to provide optimal grazing all season. Grain options are available for pasture boarded horses.

Mattalyn Hughes Dressage is based out of Icon Sporthorses, LLC in the West Knoxville, TN area. Icon is the elite facility in the Knoxville area. We currently have several openings for board in October, 2016, as well as limited space for training/sales horses and lesson students.

The facility boasts a 60 stall barn with several grooming and wash bays, an indoor ring with an observation area from lounge which also has a kitchen, outdoor, warm-up/lunging ring, and 5-horse hot walker.
