Horse Boarding in Newport, Oregon (Lincoln County)

The Oregon Horse Center boasts a spacious 272-acres. Our facility offers equine enthusiasts the best boarding experience in Oregon with unparalleled access to every type of showing, training or riding experience.

The main “OHC Complex” features four interconnected, covered riding arenas, all under a 4 acre roof. Those arenas are Silverado 106’x285’, Emerald 100'x300', Logan 106'x180' and the boarders arena which is 120’x150’. We also have the seasonal 145’x300’ Rodeo Arena and access to 220 acres of fields and trails that are privately owned by OHC. All of our indoor riding surfaces are regularly maintained to insure proper footing for everything from dressage and jumping to reining and speed work. Two boarders only round pens are located next to the barns.

The newly renovated “Prairie Complex” features a 135’x230’ indoor arena, a 85’x165’ Dome arena and a 150’x250’ and 200’x250’ sand outdoor arena. Adjacent to the outdoor arena is a seasonal 4 acre “Derby Field” with cross country jumps and obstacles from 12” through Prelim. There are also heated bathrooms with showers located near all 3 arenas in the Prairie Complex.

The boarding barns are well ventilated and feature 12x14 foot stalls. Every barn has two front cross-tie tacking areas and an indoor hot/cold wash rack. Storage for your hay, tack, and trailer parking are included in your monthly board. The tack rooms have been renovated with all new bridle and saddle racks, we have two tack rooms in each barn. Access to large heated bathrooms is always available just off the Silverado arena. Barns B and C have some stalls with 12’x24’ wood 5 board fenced runs. Please note those stalls usually have a waiting list.

The most important amenity at OHC as a boarder is our community. It’s not uncommon for your fellow boarders to become a part of your adopted, extended family. It's nice to have others around to answer your equine questions. On any given day you can find someone jumping, reining, gaming, doing drill team, pony club, roping cows, team penning, trail riding, practicing for the Mountain Trail shows, or just walking their horse around and letting it graze. It’s as peaceful or as exciting as you want it to be!

We are conveniently located just off highway 240 less than 2 miles outside of downtown Newberg, 15 minutes from Sherwood, and 20 minutes from Hillsboro and Forest Grove. We are only 3 miles from George Fox University. B&G Stables is a well founded self care barn in Newberg, OR. We have twenty-one roomy stalls as well as eight large and two small turn outs. Two wash racks & two tackrooms are also available. There is an indoor arena that is kept well groomed for training and workouts. Barn hours are 5am to 10pm Mon-Sat and Sun by appointment. Boarders have access to the property 5am to 10pm seven days a week as well as late hours for picking up and returning from events. Tack rooms are kept locked and only management and boarders have keys. Wash racks have hot and cold running water. Our full care boarding includes twice daily stall cleaning, quality, tested hay fed three times a day, grain and suppliments fed 1-2x daily, pasture turnout, consistent reinforcement of ground manners, blankets on/off.
Each of our matted stalls include a covered, matted veranda for each horse plus a run in area with well maintained sand footing. Natural fly control through Fly Predators & consistent picking of stalls/manure management, yellow jacket control with consistent monitoring & eradication of any known nests, traps, winter mud control by way of pasture rotation & consistent application of sand/footing as needed. That's right! As close to no mud, no flies, and no yellowjackets as you will see! Professional trainers on site with discounts to our boarders. My private barn is located on Parrett Mountain Road and it has views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams and Mt. Jefferson. There are riding trails on the property and the surrounding area.
