Golden Curls Ranch's Spring Break Riding Camp is a safe, fun way for your little equestrian to learn about horses. We share our horse safety handling techniques in leading, grooming, and riding. Riders are taught about parts of the horse, how to understand their body language and the many different parts of tack and saddles. We learn how to safely mount and the three gaits in riding.

Hogany Tops Farm has been on sabbatical for some time due to health and extensive surgery. I am so blessed to be able to relocate and open our doors again! We welcome everyone of all ages and levels to our program!

Hogany Tops has openings in our riding lesson and training programs and we would love to help you excel in your riding, whether it is for competition or pleasure, or to help you with your green horse/pony or your made up horse/pony continuing to improve! We teach and train at our facility or we can come to yours.

Hogany Tops Farm is a hunter jumper training and lesson barn located just outside of Dallas, TX, in beautiful Edgewood, TX, dedicated to establishing superior horsemanship with physically fit, willing and content, well trained horses and riders. Accordingly, a consistent training routine and at least a minimum lesson program are pertinent to accomplish this goal. Training and instruction, specializing in hunters, jumpers and equitation are designed with the horse and rider in mind and customized to fit each one’s individual abilities and objectives to reach their full potential. We focus on correct equitation in the jumpers as well as the hunters. All good riding is based on dressage as a foundation. Hours spent on the flat ultimately produce a fluid ride over fences in the hunters and an accurate and powerful ride occurring in a timely fashion in the jumpers.
All levels of riders, beginner through advanced are welcome in our lesson program and we have wonderful lesson horses for those who do not have one! HTF provides the opportunity to horse show at both local and national competitions. Hogany Tops Farm offers quality horses and ponies for sale or lease.
Hogany Tops Farm originated in 1985 in Macon, Georgia. The business is owned and operated by Jo Beard, who was born, raised and educated in Virginia. Her love for and association with horses began at an early age, in the family barn, which at the age of eight led her to horse shows and fox hunts with her father. Her journey with horses continued to the professional level when at the age of 18 she was schooling, training, and showing horses and ponies and catch-riding at horse shows. Her professional focus centered on hunters and jumpers and as she developed her own riding skills, she became involved in the sport of steeplechase racing and took that to a highly successful professional level as one of two licensed female steeplechase jockeys in the United States. She has subsequently trained and owned hundreds of show horses and has consistently been successfully involved in both local and national horse show competition. Today, her focus is on the interest of her clients and their goals and aspirations. She has the experience (over 40 years of teaching all levels), and the skills and patience to take them where they want to go. Both Jo’s children and grandchildren are also very successful and well known in the hunter jumper world! Jo’s extensive experience in the industry has created a wide network of friends and professional associates nationwide. Referrals will be gladly given upon request.

Our camps are designed to provide a hands-on experience for youth wanting to learn more about horses, horse care, and riding techniques. GoldStar Stables offers summer camps from one day to five days. Emphasis is on safety and advancing at the individual rider's pace. On every Friday of camp, we will order pizza and invite the parents to watch an exhibition, in which their child will show what they learned. Cost for horse camp is $350.00 per session, with discounts for more than one family member or multiple sessions. $100.00 deposit required for each session, with balance due on first day of camp. Camp dates: June 13-17, 8 am to 3 pm; July 11-15; and August 1-5, 2016. We offer weekly English riding camps during the month of June. We have a beautiful 21 acre facility in the country just minutes from McKinney by Lake Lavon. Campers will participate in scheduled activities including riding lessons, horse care, stable management, swimming, crafts, and games. We have well- trained horses and an experienced instructor. Horsemanship Day Camps offer quality horse riding and horse care instruction to riders. We work with riders of all different riding skills from those who have never touched a horse before to those who are headed to the show ring or a career with horses. Each day, campers will enjoy quality arena lessons, horse care classes, trail rides, Bible studies, crafts, sports and praise and worship times. Spiritual principles and themes are integrated throughout the day in all camper activities. Skilled riding instructors and caring counselors guide campers through a day filled with fun adventures with horses. Our desire is for youth to grow in character and life-skills during their stay at the Flying G Ranch. The goals are high here at the Flying G Ranch but we know that through God’s guidance and everyone’s diligence we can achieve miracles! Summer, School Holiday and Saturday Camps offered. Campers will enjoy a hands-on learning experience. We begin with feeding horses, learning all about horse safety, grooming, anatomy, and tacking up. They will learn the basics of riding in a Western saddle, an English saddle, and even get on bareback. Every day we will introduce them to something new about horses, so If they didn't get to come the day before, that's okay. Campers will also enjoy hayrides, arts & crafts, fun activities, & all sorts of fun outdoor games.
