Epona Riding Academy offers Natural Horsemanship classes and English riding lessons for beginners through advanced including jumping and showing. We specialize in Hunters/Jumpers/Equitation with full training and horse care/boarding services available. The setting of a beautiful canyon in Sunland/Tujunga is the perfect place to advance under the careful instruction of the wonderful instructors at Epona Riding Academy. With a safety-first approach, students will learn all aspects of horsemanship in a fun and caring atmosphere, next door to La Crescenta/Montrose, La Canada and Glendale/Burbank. We welcome adults and children ages 5 and up.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

During your stay at Mariposa Riding Club, campers will experience and improve on their horse skills, including horsemanship, and equitation. Sumer camp focus is to aid each individual camper in empowering them to a higher self-esteem, confidence, breaking through fears, and positively connecting camper and horse in a powerful relationship.

Meagan has over 20 years of riding experience. Over 15 years of competitive show experience. Meagan has been trained by top professionals, Liz Denny (Grand Prix), Hilda Gureny (Olympian trainer and Judge), training with Jodie Cressman (USDF Bronz and silver Medalist, Grand Prix), and Melinda Golis (Judge and Trainer).

Meagan’s focus of instruction is emphasized between horse and rider. Assisting the student and horse in positive and effective communication, through the use of verbal and non-verbal cues. Both camper and horse provide a therapeutic release of both physical and emotional needs.
It is Meagan’s passion and commitment in creating a nurturing and empowering environment for both horse and rider to last a life time.

Rising Storm Stables, owned by Elizabeth (Lizzie) Easton-Cagala, is a high quality show boarding and training facility specializing in bringing our clients top quality care and training to both the horse and rider in the Hunter/Jumper Discipline. RSS is 20 level acres that is fully fenced and gated to provide security and privacy to this unique facility. Our lovely and tranquil facility has large oak trees, pepper trees lining the property, and other landscaping that makes anyone feel relaxed and be able to focus on riding. Located in Valley Center, Ca Rising Storm Stables has the following amenities: 5 large year round irrigated grass pastures, 3 24”x24” covered pipe corrals, 13 stall 12”x12” box stall barn w/two cross ties & indoor wash rack, 1 school sand arena, 1 jumping sand arena, Grand Prix grass jumping arena, dirt galloping field, outdoor wash racks, tack rooms, outdoor covered cross ties, separate shoeing area, and trail access. We also offer special amenities to our boarders that include: Riders Lounge w/comfy couches, writing desk, tv with basic channels/dvd player, wifi, & seperate kitchenette with complimentary waters in the fridge, outdoor picnic area w/bbq & patio cover (available to boarders to use for birthday parties, family gatherings, etc. complimentary), a zen garden if you feel like you need some time to yourself to relax, and half court basketball court. At RSS we want every client and their horse to achieve their goals, in or out of the show ring, so we take pride in creating positive atmosphere here.

Resident trainer and Owner Elizabeth (Lizzie) Easton-Cagala is a Hunter/Jumper/Equitation rider/trainer. Some of her highlights have been: 2005 NYAC (Young Riders) Zone 10 team & individual rider placing 8th individual & 6th team, 2006 WCAR 1.30m team rider to represent zone 10 at Spruce Meadows, Canada, 2006 IJF west coast championships 4 year old champion best 4 year old in the US, 2006 2nd Blenheim $25,000 grand prix, and many more. Lizzie can take anyone from “green to grand prix’ and anywhere in between.

Summer Horse Camp at Windwalker Ranch in Moorpark. Ages 6 or above. English or Western. Come join the fun at our Summer horse camp! We provide a safe environment for the beginner to advanced camper who wishes to learn about horses, riding and horsemanship inside and out. Campers ride three times daily, learn to groom, tack and untack horses, feed, clean and all the other in's and out's of horse ownership. A kid and family friendly ranch, Windwalker Ranch provides a relaxing, fun filled atmosphere for kids to truly enjoy horses in an uninhibited way.
Camp hours 9:30 to 4:30.
Fees: $300.00/wk $75.00/day. Fees are due at start of camp. $150.00 deposit required to reserve spots.

We help each student learn and strengthen the fundamentals of horsemanship with a focus on creating a bond between horse and rider.

Our goal is to create a fun environment to not only learn to ride our horses but to take the skills you learn out into the world and be able to create your own deep bonds with the horses you will meet. Riding can be a great opportunity for children. Not only do they get the experience of being around these magnificent animals, but it’s a chance to make friends their own age, and they will learn a great deal of responsibility along the way.
