Trail Riding (TRC 1Y) and Introduction to Endurance (ERC 2Y)

TRC 1Y (beginner – low intermediate)
Ages: 12 to 16 (girls only)
This is a basic wilderness program designed to improve the rider’s stamina. We will spend long hours in the saddle and learn all about riding on trail, horsemanship and safety.

We offer weekly English riding camps during the month of June. We have a beautiful 21 acre facility in the country just minutes from McKinney by Lake Lavon. Campers will participate in scheduled activities including riding lessons, horse care, stable management, swimming, crafts, and games. We have well- trained horses and an experienced instructor. We limit our camps to 8 students at a time so that each child gets a lot of individual instruction.... See More

GoldStar Stables offers summer camps from one day to five days. Emphasis is on safety and advancing at the individual rider's pace. On every Friday of camp, we will order pizza and invite the parents to watch an exhibition, in which their child will show what they learned. Cost for horse camp is $350.00 per session, with discounts for more than one family member or multiple sessions. $100.00 deposit required for each session, with balance due on first day of camp. Camp dates: June 13-17, 8 am to 3 pm; July 11-15; and August 1-5, 2016. Campers will enjoy a hands-on learning experience. We begin with feeding horses, learning all about horse safety, grooming, anatomy, and tacking up. They will learn the basics of riding in a Western saddle, an English saddle, and even get on bareback. Every day we will introduce them to something new about horses, so If they didn't get to come the day before, that's okay. Campers will also enjoy hayrides, arts & crafts, fun activities, & all sorts of fun outdoor games.
