For those who love horses and want to meet new friends who love horses too. Fun filled days of riding instruction and fun horse activities with emphasis on skill building, safety and responsibility. For beginner riders within their first year or two of riding lessons who want the camp
experience and lots of time with horses. A mini “SHOW” will be put on for the parents the last day.
AQHA Advanced Show Camp May 26-May 29 Tues-Fri 9:30am-1:30pm Cost $325

Prepare for or come watch the Novice Show Series that GQHA is putting on in Conyers. We should have the patterns for the show available for practice. We will work on skills to show competitively at this level. The patterns may look very different from what previous experience has been, more complex including large intricate trail patterns with new obstacles, will include equitation and horsemanship patterns with 1 or 2 cones to learn how to use empty space to plan your pattern. Students will learn how to think like a judge, read judge's score cards and break down each class to learn how the judge scores including penalties and faults. 1st 3 days focus to perfect your skills for show events and videotaping. 4th day showmanship and show prep. JUMPING CAMP June 15-18 M-Th or June 29-July 2 M-Th 9:30am-1:30pm Cost $310
This camp will be for students who want to focus on their skills and learn more about the dynamics of jumping. Students learning to jump will work on cantering consistently over jumps with the correct number of strides geared to their ability. More advanced jumping students will develop a stronger seat, better timing, understanding jumping problems and learning to jump better not just higher. There will be the challenge of more demanding courses and oxers and cross-country jumping will be included.
FUN CAMP June 22-25 Mon-Thurs 9:30 am-1:30 pm Cost $310
Games on horseback, trail rides, fun filled activities, team events, races and more. Bring bathing suits and a smile. A week of great fun! Must be comfortable at a trot and canter!
HORSE PROJECT I or HORSE PROJECT II June 22-25 Mon-Thurs 10:30am-2:30pm Cost $310
I: Experience the feeling of horse ownership. Learn how to care for a horse properly. Understand the costs and responsibility involved. A project book will be completed during the hands on experience of managing the health, feeding, cleaning, and care of horses.
II: Continuing with a more serious and active role in the management and care of a horse while increasing knowledge of more health related issues, psychology of behavior and developing more responsibility and lifelong skills. The project book will be continued with advanced concepts during the hands on experience of managing the health, feeding, cleaning, and care of horses.
COLORADO ADVENTURE CAMP July 6-10 Mon-Fri Cost $1,350

Dances With Horses and Vaulting July 20-23 Mon-Thurs 9:30am-1:30pm Cost $310
Have fun dancing with horses! Did you see Cavalia? We will learn synchronized movements to become more in tune with the horse, practicing advanced patterns, mounted drill team exercises, balanced bareback activities and jumping with rhythm and coordination. We will explore vaulting movements, yoga postures, and dance as we learn to incorporate movement into our riding. Creativity, strength, balance and advanced skills are the goal. The final outcome will be a performance synchronized and choreographed to music as well as other talents our riders or instructors will demonstrate her fire hula hoop! A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING CAMP July 27-30 Mon-Thurs 9:30am-1:30pm Cost $310
An action packed week where horses can do almost anything and so can you! Every day is different! Mon – Jumping and/or Vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) Tues – FUN DAY – Games on Horseback Wed - Tough Rider Day –Tough rider skills and assertiveness training to make you a better rider
Thurs - Western Day – Flying lead changes, trail patterns and intro to reining
WESTERN RIDING & DAWSON FOREST/JAKE MOUNTAIN TRAIL RIDE age 11 +
Aug 3-5 Mon-Wed 9:30am-12:30pm (Tues or Wed will be 9:30am-5:30pm) (3 Day Camp) Cost $325
Understanding the elements of western riding, gaits, maneuvering a wide variety of obstacles and more advanced trail riding practice. An off-site ride will be planned at Dawson Forest or Jake Mountain on one of the days weather permitting.
*Becoming a Jr. Instructor Camp* June 1-4, June 8-11, July 6-9 or July 13-16 Mon-Thurs 9:30am-4:00pm Cost $250 Learn skills for becoming a future assistant instructor and training steps with young/challenging horses. Classroom learning and riding too in this camp. Must be approved - talk to Donna or Hannah; and must be age 14 + and entering sophomore year in the fall.

Introductory programs for 5 – 9 year olds
FOR THE LOVE OF HORSES
For the Love of Horses is an introductory program for 5-9 year olds offering children basic instruction in horse terminology, care, safety, grooming, tacking-up and on the ground handling of horses, and you don’t have to own a horse! This gives children a comfort level and a foundation in understanding the safety requirements necessary around horses. Most of the sessions will be indoors in our stable. However we will be in the arena for a portion of the last two sessions to ride a horse or pony. Please sign up as soon as possible to assure a space in one of these camps. These camps will run with a minimum of 2 students and will not exceed a maximum of 6. These camps are
$250 and include an Equestrian Reserve T-shirt. Cancellations with less than two weeks notice will not receive a refund. Please bring a snack and water bottle and appropriate riding clothing.

Cost is $1,350 per person + airfare (approx $350)
We are planning a Colorado Adventure Camp. Each day will bring a new adventure:
Day 1 Copper Mountain bicycle at the top of Vail Pass or take the scenic chair lift ride to 11,250 feet for mountain exploration.
Day 2 Hiking on scenic trails with waterfalls, rushing streams or to a hidden lake.
Day 3 Saddle up for a breathtaking and peaceful trail ride on horseback through the Rockies or a spa treatment relaxation day at the Vapor Caves for any adult participants.
Day 4 White water rafting (easy river trip). One of the evenings enjoy an outdoor pool party with water slides at an enormous Hot Springs mineral pool.
This will be in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains of western Colorado. Mountain lodging, all meals and costs of activities included. We will be staying in the Glenwood Springs area. Let us know asap if you are interested and we can provide you with more information about the activities, costs, plane reservations, etc. The cost of $1,350 per person (child or adult) and will include three meals per day during the trip, lodging, horse rentals, equipment rentals, rafting, water slide tickets, pool entrance, ground transportation and SUV auto rentals. The airfare will be approximately an additional $350 unless you have your own frequent flyer miles to get your own free or reduced ticket. We will need to have a commitment very soon to make arrangements for this trip. We need to make the plane reservations all together as one group. A non refundable deposit of $300 by May 1 is required. We will be able to take 5-6 for sure. We will need an additional adult for supervision and driving responsibilities to go with us for each additional 3-4 attending. Maximum number is 9 participants. There will be a reduced rate for the role of one or two supervising adults based on total numbers. So if you are interested, please let me know as it will be a first come first serve basis to secure a supervising adult role. Additional adults wishing to attend are welcome at the regular rate. This could be a great parent/daughter trip. The minimum age is 11 unless the parent will be in attendance as well. There will need to be a minimum of 5 attending and the additional number who wish to attend will also be based on a first come first serve basis, but will be limited by the number of adults attending for supervision.
