I am have 35+ years' experience providing fun, friendly and encouraging horseback riding lessons, so you and/or your children learn to ride quickly, safely and well.
I was recruited by Old Westbury Equestrian Center, the premiere Long Island equestrian riding and training facility since 1916, as a Trainer/Riding Instructor in early 2015.
RIDING LESSONS, primarily in English equitation, hunter/jumper and cross-country, are taught for all levels of experience and interest, but basic dressage and Western riding lessons are also available.
CROSS COUNTRY COURSE: Old Westbury Equestrian Center has a beautifully manicured cross-country riding course of natural jumps, including ditches and banks. Ask about cross-country riding lessons!
HORSEMANSHIP: Horse care and communication, safety, grooming and tacking, and stable etiquette are not usually taught as part of a riding lesson. But because I believe horsemanship skills are an intrinsic part of learning to ride, and because many students (and parents of students) have expressed a deep desire to learn these skills, I teach them upon request. I strongly believe that good communication with your mount begins on the ground, where you can make eye contact and "get your hands on the horse" to help establish physical communication.
You will learn to groom and tack up your mount, to handle any horse safely on the ground, basic horse care, and to communicate effectively with horses physically, verbally, and mentally, both on the ground and in the saddle.
