Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown. Traveling Trainer services are offered on a limited basis within the Triangle. Trailer-In lessons are also welcome at either facility.

Lessons are taught by a certified American Riding Instructor, with over 26 years of experience competing, training, teach and showing all over the midwest and east coast. Introduction - Learn to safely approach, halter, and lead a horse, learn to groom, tack, mount, and dismount, introduction to riding aids, learn correct riding position and balance exercises, introduce walking and trotting, practice utilizing riding aids in steering exercises, trail riding.

Intermediate - Know parts of the tack, learn the two-point position and posting at the trot, learn to canter, introduce sitting trot, improve and strengthen two-point position, improve use of all riding aids in steering and gait transitions, trail riding.

Kylie Barrows has many years experience competing in dressage and eventing. Training and lessons are offered to horses and riders of all experience levels, with an emphasis on kind and correct training principles, safety, and fun.
