Since 1989 I have specialized in working with youth and amateur riders. I started my career riding Western horses with my speciality being All Around/versatility and Trail (show) . During my college years I delved into the world of showing hunter jumpers and there I would spend the next 20+ years showing and competing. 2020 marked my path back into the Western world.
I operate a small lesson barn with a very minimal number of boarders and minimal number of training horses at any one time. If you are interested in training or tune ups, please be aware there my be a waiting list. Lessons are 45$ per hour for most riders. Walk/trot riders 6-8 $35 (30-45 min) Youth 6 and under (leadline) are 30$/ half hour. As of 2022 we will offer video/remote lessons. With a strong emphasis on safetyand solid basics. "At home" programs/lessons are available so you can work on your owns horse or we can problem solve, standard rate +fuel sur charge (max 20 mile distance) Children with ADD/ADHD and high function autism are welcome as my program can me modified to accommodate their specific needs. Sherri is a high honors graduate of Kent State University with Bachelor of Science degree in teaching. She currently runs one of the largest horse 4-H clubs in the county. She has a passion for instruction. Her love for horses and the children that ride them is evident in her training. I can halter break foals, start horses under saddle, or finish a horse in any of the following disciplines; western, english, jumping, showmanship, contesting and trail. I charge $35 per hour and like the owner of the horse to learn my training techniques so they know what to do with the horse when they are working with them. I also do monthly training that requires the horse be boarded on out farm. $250 for full care board and $250 for training. I work with the horse at least 4 times a week. My main goal when training is to have a calm, respectful and willing horse on the ground and in the saddle. I believe the proper ground work is the key to most problems. I give lessons to beginners up to experienced riders. I also will give lessons to all ages; no on is too young or too old in my eyes. I prefer private lessons only but will give a group lesson up to two riders at a time. I charge $35 per private lesson and $25 per rider for a group lesson. Lessons usually last 1 1/2 hours because I guarantee an hour on the horses back.

I have 19 years of experience training horses/riders. I have had over 6 different personal trainers and I study John Lyons,Pat Parelli,Guy McLean, Chris Cox, Clinton Anderson, Craig Cameron and many others on a consistent basis. I believe you can never know everything and the same techniques do not work on every horse. I have shown in all of the above disciplines and have done very well.
