We are a non-showing, no pressure riding stables that offer one hour private pay-as-you-go lessons i.e. no need to buy lesson packages as with most stables in our area. The lessons are suitable for all levels of rider from absolute beginner through advanced, teaching both western and english style with the opportunity for trail rides and foxhunting for students enrolled in our lesson progam. We specialize and have much experience with first time riders of all ages, with many adults and children as young as 6, helping those who have never seen a horse all the way through to the wannabe first time horse owner and beyond. We have both indoor and outdoor riding arenas, as well as onsite 29 acres of private wooded land available for year round riding.

We have fun but safe riding lessons. I have been a full time riding instructor for 9 years, I certainly love what I do. I typically start at the age of 5 but I have had some students start as early as 4 years old. Right now my oldest student is 50 so as you can see I have a wide range of ages. I do use my personal horses, I have at times traveled to other barns if need be. My rates are 4-5 year olds are a half an hour private lesson for $15, 6 years old and up is an hour private lessons for $25, group rate for the hour lesson is $5 off each participant. Lunar Winds Stables' lesson program is based on training ideals that strengthen bonds and communicate with horses through their mind, voice, emotions, and body language. Through riding, they learn how their seat affects the horse, and learn how to recognize different types of horse behavior and what could be done to make problem behaviors better. I can halter break foals, start horses under saddle, or finish a horse in any of the following disciplines; western, english, jumping, showmanship, contesting and trail. I charge $35 per hour and like the owner of the horse to learn my training techniques so they know what to do with the horse when they are working with them. I also do monthly training that requires the horse be boarded on out farm. $250 for full care board and $250 for training. I work with the horse at least 4 times a week. My main goal when training is to have a calm, respectful and willing horse on the ground and in the saddle. I believe the proper ground work is the key to most problems. I give lessons to beginners up to experienced riders. I also will give lessons to all ages; no on is too young or too old in my eyes. I prefer private lessons only but will give a group lesson up to two riders at a time. I charge $35 per private lesson and $25 per rider for a group lesson. Lessons usually last 1 1/2 hours because I guarantee an hour on the horses back.

I have 19 years of experience training horses/riders. I have had over 6 different personal trainers and I study John Lyons,Pat Parelli,Guy McLean, Chris Cox, Clinton Anderson, Craig Cameron and many others on a consistent basis. I believe you can never know everything and the same techniques do not work on every horse. I have shown in all of the above disciplines and have done very well.

Jamie Gunyula has been teaching for nearly 15 years and has taken many riders from their first few rides in the lesson program to winning ribbons at the shows on their own horses. She had the amazing opportunity to work as an assistant to advanced rider and successful horseman, Jeffrey Taylor, for 8 years. Those years of hard work and invaluable experience from Jeffrey sharpened her teaching, riding, and training skills. During that time Jamie competed through the Intermediate level, including a CIC 2*, and brought many young horses along through the levels successfully.

Jamie welcomes riders of all levels and has several wonderful school horses available. She is also happy to travel to you on your own horse and offers coaching at the horse shows whenever available.

We provide lessons for the beginner through advanced rider, focusing on the importance of a correct seat for successful communication with your horse. Whether you prefer Western or English disciplines, we will help you communicate clearly with the horse for balanced and collected movement. Some people call this 'centered riding' and some call it 'biomechanics,' we call it solid horsemanship. We provide lessons on our horses or you can load in.

For those starting out in horse riding, we will provide you instruction on horse care, grooming, haltering and leading a horse. We will show you how to tack up, and we will discuss the horse's structure and the biomechanics of riding. We want you to learn the cues for riding, when to apply them and why they work. Under saddle you will learn how to balance upon your horse and communicate with your horse through your hands, seat and legs. We will provide you training in walk, trot and canter in an arena setting and then move outside of the arena for more challenge.

For the intermediate student who currently rides and wants to expand their ability, we will further develop your seat with balance and agility exercises. You can learn flying lead changes, dressage patterns or how to jump - anything is possible once you have confidence in your seat.
