Lessons are given to riders of all ages, from age 4-adults, and to riders of levels from beginners to advanced! Amanda specializes in Hunter/Jumpers, and puts an emphasis on proper English Equitation. Lessons also offer the opportunity for miles of trail rides and pleasure riding. For riders who wish to pursue the world of Showing, coaching is available as well as show preparation and assistance in transporting horses to shows. Amanda has been part of several Horse Show Organizations including: Connecticut Horse Show Association, United States Equestrian Federation, United States Hunter Jumper Association, and American Quarter Horse Association. She has competed in several A-rated shows, and taken home a number of blues! Weather you would like to ride for fun or to brush up on your competition skills, Amanda will accommodate to your needs your lessons and will help you reach any and all goals! For those students who are brand new to the horse world, your first lesson will be 1 hour, which will incorporate learning how to properly handle, groom, and tack up horses before the mounted portion of the lesson. For all other students, you have the option to choose from half hour private lessons ($25), semi-private 45 minute lessons ($35), 1 hour private lessons ($40), or 1-1.5 hour group lessons (length depends on group size $35). Students are welcome to use the barn's schooling horses and tack, or are welcome to use their own horse. I offer riding lessons for people with their own horse, at their own place. I focus on safety while teaching a balanced independent seat, proper use of riding aids, with explanation ahead of time. I primarily teach dressage and some pole work that will build both the rider and horse abilities. Canopy Oak Trails offers horseback riding
instruction for all levels of riders, from beginner to advanced, western or English. We are fortunate to have several excellent riding instructors, who love teaching beginners & kids. They also teach refresher lessons for those that haven’t ridden in many years.
They can nurture those that may have had bad experiences & wish to regain their confidence in a secure, safe environment. Lessons are available for advanced riders in jumping, dressage & eventing.

We have a 50’ wooden round pen, an arena with great footing & jumps, dressage letters, barrels for barrel racing & an agility course. There are also excellent trails -- lot's of them to enjoy, for those that have the skills to be safe on the trails.

We have many Western & English bridles/saddles of various sizes available for your use, as well as helmets, crops, saddlebags, etc.

Group lessons (usually 2 or 3 students) are $55, for one hour. Private lessons are $55 for a half hour lesson and $90 for a full hour lesson. Once proficient with grooming & tacking, students can arrive half an hour early to groom/tack/warm up before the lesson (and cool down untack, after the lesson is over).

We are also have a leasing program, starting at $100/ month for 1 ride/week (for those taking regular lessons - $125/month for those not) and offer lesson/trail hybrids for beginners who would like to do a trail ride.
