My name is Wyatt McCoy I am 15 years old and live in Cove City NC. My family has had our farm ever since the 1800s we have raised cattle since the 1940s and we have always loved horses. I started riding horses about 6 years ago and I have always loved and wanted to care for horses and teach the next generation of horsemen and women. I currently have 4 horses of my own and am teaching lessons I have trained horses, I have worked with problem horses. I love working with problem horses because I love giving them a chance that someone else might not give them I have always loved to work with rescue horses and one of my horses is a rescue horse that me and my kids are working with to become a lesson horse for them to ride. I have done both Western and English. I have worked with all sorts of horses, the slowest that come and very green horses. I am also willing to board your horse as well. Hoofbeats in Harmony's Horsemanship Academy is one of a kind! All students entering the program start at Level 1 and graduate after Level 10. Students progress through the levels at their own speed, earning achievement awards when they level up. Each level is divided into 6 categories: Horse Care – Riding – Ground Work – Liberty Training – Physical Fitness – Equine Literature. It is necessary for the student to pass the required tasks in all 6 categories of horsemanship in order move up a level.

When students pass a level, they will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and a patch unique to the level passed that will go on their Hoofbeats in Harmony vest. Students are encouraged to wear their vests to their lessons to showcase their accomplishments.

Misfit Equestrian/Eventing offers lessons, leasing and boarding to hunter/jumper, dressage and Eventing riders aswell as beginner students wishing to learn English riding.
We are a competitive program that does not require showing but attends 2-4 shows a month.
Beginner private lessons are an hour, in this time riders learn the basics of horsemanship (catching the horse, leading, grooming, tacking, light riding, untacking and returning the horse to the field)
Private lessons are 45 min, riders attending these lessons must be able to catch, groom, tack and mount on their own.
Group lessons start for riders who can walk trot independently and then are divided by jump height.
