although I consider myself to be a laid back person, I have very high standards when it comes to the handling of the horse. Lessons are tailored to the individual's goals, be it competitive riding, or just being able to relax around a 1200 lb animal. I generally start between 10, and 15 horses per year, and while i love getting youngsters going, it is far more rewarding to be able to work continually with a horse and rider team over a longer period of time, and enjoy their progress with them. I have a 4 year old homebred Hanoverian gelding, Nicky out of my elite mare,Seesturm,by Regazzoni, who will be starting his dressage career this spring in Glass-Ed's schooling series. Willow Tree also caters to the vacation crowd, and if you and the fam want to go on a trail ride, I'm the gal. We take the safety of our guests seriously, and no one is ever sent out on the trail with a 12 year old kid as guide. I offer easy to understand instructions for every rider, and suit riders to horses based on information given, and some intuition!

Julie Bolas is the on site instructor/trainer at Dovetail Dressage. She was certified through ARIPC Level 2 Dressage. She has shown successfully through Pre St. Georges and has started the USDF "L" judge program to further her education. She has most recently studied with Maryal Barnett, USDF "S" judge. Her emphasis is on proper riding basics and balance and creating harmony between horse and rider. Dovetail has limited schooling horses to begin your riding journey but also specializes in troubleshooting and correcting problems for more advanced riders. Our barn features an easy access parking lot,indoor arena for winter riding,heated grooming area (during cold months) pretty farm with a nice family atmosphere.No drama. Lessons are $20 for group lessons. You can join in on existing groups ($25 for a private lessons) the evaluation (trial) lesson is free. The trial lesson gives you a chance to meet the riding instructor, the horses. And evaluate your riding to determine your skill level and a lesson plan if you decide to continue with lessons.

We teach English, western, dressage,western dressage and barrel racing. I will teach jumping to students who own their own horse We have a rotating curriculum for students not focused in one event.

Leasing options- 1/3 lease (2 days a week) 1/2 lease $150 (4 days) full lease (6 days) $250.....weekly lessons are a requirement to be in the lease.

Boarding- pasture board (3 horses per paddock) with shelter and free choice hay (no grain) $225 per month. (Add $25 if your horse needs grain) stall boarding in our new modern style barn which is heated in the winter. 12x12 stalls cleaned daily. And bedded well in clean shavings.
