21 years of experience as a resistance-free trainer, balanced and correct forward movement is the key to a happy horse. Troma was a ex-vet tech, travelled from MAFB California with basic western/ english roots to the dressage, eventing and jumping world of the SOUTH Kentucky/Tennessee. Residing in California, New York and most of her EQUINE EXPERIENCE has been in the heart of the south. She has traveled to 13 countries and 40 states. Recently returned to the GOLD COUNTRY Placerville, California.

Here at Hard Knox Horse Academy, we offer horse boarding, training, starting and conditioning of almost any discipline. I offer lessons, horsemanship under saddle and on the flat, training, starting, ground training, and handler/owner/rider horsemanship training clinics as well as exercising, and equine management. Prices range from $10-$40 depending on the service and I offer discounts or group lessons and boarding barns! I am a mobile trainer but am working on getting our insurance set up for our home farm to start taking on, on site clients as well!

I offer a unique approach with students focusing on balance, communication, light and confident riding, in a stress free manner. My training program is very simular, I focus on the horse and owner/handler/rider as a team and while I am working with the horse often times 101 I ALWAYS include a short lesson at the end where the owner/handler/trainer is able to learn my meathods inabling a better relationship between them and the horse. All throught the training sessions I take the time to carefully explain why I'm doing what I am and how it's effecting the horse. I use a method of my own and a blended method of regular and natural horsemanship.

We are a full service training facility located in beautiful Butte Valley, CA. Teaching from the beginning. Safety, how horses think and what are they feeling is SUPER important to me. I want to help my students create a calm responsive partner in their horse in what ever discipline they choose.
Keeping the horse's mind and body relaxed is a high priority for me… not to say I won’t add pressure… I will… I just want to present it in a way not to overwhelm and blow up either the horse or student.
Keeping all that in mind this is what I go over in the beginner lessons:
Approaching horses, haltering , leading, grooming, minor vet care, health, nutrition, saddling, bridling, rein handling,
Leg cues, balance and equitation. I have access to arena and trails.
Students are started with a series of undetermined lessons on the ground first and foremost. As a student progresses in their understanding and response time they are moved into mounted education.

I also offer problem solving, trailer loading and obstacle clinics.
