Luminous Acres is a small and family friendly boutique riding facility catering to riders ages 6-18. We focus on beginner to advanced instruction with a strong foundation of safety, proper seat and balance in the saddle. We offer safe lesson ponies of various sizes to cater to different aged riders as well as their experience level. We offer larger horses for more experienced riders and select adults. I have over ten years experience riding, including a period of employment as a trail guide. Lessons would be at your home/or boarding facility on your own horse. I do have a lesson horse available if needed. I showed western pleasure in 4-h, have some experience in cutting, reining and mounted shooting. Lessons are $25/hour with discounts for purchasing packages.

Training:I do not finish horses but I can help solve some problems you may be having. In addition I really enjoy working with weanlings and yearlings groundwork etc. I will come to you if you have a round pen or you can board your horse(s) where I keep my own. I charge $1=100 /week plus mileage. Off site or $50/week + board if you choose to do that.

Includes a ride/working with your horse 5 days a week for 1-2 hours
I will also offer specialized services such as stall cleaning, barn upkeep, feeding, horse/house/pet sitting ($15/hour) and excercise riding ($20/hour)

Instructors are CHA and or CCHI certified. We teach from all four levels. Trail riding is available Tuesday through Sunday and closed Mondays except holidays. Homeschool and Afterschool riding lessons are offered in the spring and fall.

My program focuses on developing a working bond between horse and handler. In doing so confidence is fostered not only in the rider but the horse as well. This creates a solid foundation based on positive reinforcement and facilitates easy learning advancement in addition to preventing negative habits from forming.
I have been involved with horses my whole life. At age nine I began breaking and training ponies. I have shown with AQHA and NSBA for the last sixteen years and have had the opportunity to apprentice with many great horsemen of the industry. My personal achievements include 2008 NSBA Res. Limited Rider of the year, 2008 Reichert Intermediate Slot class winner, 2010 Reichert champion, multiple top five and top ten placings at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. We built the first ever permanent indoor mountain trail park in the world. We start our riding lessons in the arena to teach safety and how to maneuver then move to the course, we also have pony camps, birthday parties and girl scout organizations. Hello there! My style of teaching is based around the principle that bettering one's self will directly benefit their ability to work in unity with their horse. I firmly believe that what we bring to the relationship defines the limitations of our partnership, and that the majority of horsemanship is about building yourself up to be the person your horse needs. I always seek to empower each horse and human as individuals first, and then as a unified partnership. My lessons are centered around building mindfulness within ourselves and our horses, emotional resilience and regulation, and creating better understanding and practice of how to effectively communicate with our horses. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety around riding, or your horse spooks too much for your comfort.
