We have fun but safe riding lessons. I have been a full time riding instructor for 9 years, I certainly love what I do. I typically start at the age of 5 but I have had some students start as early as 4 years old. Right now my oldest student is 50 so as you can see I have a wide range of ages. I do use my personal horses, I have at times traveled to other barns if need be. My rates are 4-5 year olds are a half an hour private lesson for $15, 6 years old and up is an hour private lessons for $25, group rate for the hour lesson is $5 off each participant. Our professional is Heather Froehlich. Heather is a second generation horse trainer with 15 years teaching and training experience already at the age of 28. She has extensive experience in hunters, jumpers, equitation, dressage and horse health care. Heather has very successfully shown at Regional A rated shows qualifying for nationals 6 consecutive years as a child rider as well as qualifying numerous students for finals as well.
Heather has trained with a variety of professional trainers including Lynn Cartellone, Jeff Gogul, Farra Phillips-Hillyard and John Roper. She has also attended numerous clinics, studying the concepts of George Morris, Susan Harris, Felicitous, and Frank Madden. From 2006 - 2008 she spent in Central Pennsylvania training horses and riders of all levels including serving as assistant coach for the Bucknell Equestrian Team.
Heathers is an experienced and enthusiastic trainer dedicated to producing well-rounded, effective and confident equestrians. Anyone who works with Heather comes to appreciate the one on one attention given to both the horse and rider and the attention to details. Heather has attained a high skill level of riding and is able to school or re-school the greenest of horses. We teach all ages and levels of hunter, jumper and hunt-seat equitation riding and will help you reach your specific riding goals while learning invaluable horsemanship skills.

Beginner riding lessons for any age. I have an indoor arean allowing lessons to preceed even if outdoor riding is unavalible. Bring your own horse or use one of ours. You will learn how to ride as well as care for a horse of your own. Driving lessons are also avalible. I have a Clydesdale who would be willing to help you learn the basics of driving, harnessing, and showing under cart.

At Sunset Stables we give instruction in huntseat, western, showmanship, trail (class and riding) offer lessons for the most nervous of beginner to more advanced riders who want to show on the circuit. We can get you to your very first show or for more experience riders offer the polish it takes for the winner circle. We enjoy showing but we put our focus on safe proper technique to make sure the rider and horse gets the most from the experience. We offer lessons from ages 4 and up. We offer a family friendly atmosphere if showing isn’t your goal that’s fine too. We want to see our clients do their personal best at shows but we want them to have fun also. Please call for rates. I can halter break foals, start horses under saddle, or finish a horse in any of the following disciplines; western, english, jumping, showmanship, contesting and trail. I charge $35 per hour and like the owner of the horse to learn my training techniques so they know what to do with the horse when they are working with them. I also do monthly training that requires the horse be boarded on out farm. $250 for full care board and $250 for training. I work with the horse at least 4 times a week. My main goal when training is to have a calm, respectful and willing horse on the ground and in the saddle. I believe the proper ground work is the key to most problems. I give lessons to beginners up to experienced riders. I also will give lessons to all ages; no on is too young or too old in my eyes. I prefer private lessons only but will give a group lesson up to two riders at a time. I charge $35 per private lesson and $25 per rider for a group lesson. Lessons usually last 1 1/2 hours because I guarantee an hour on the horses back.

I have 19 years of experience training horses/riders. I have had over 6 different personal trainers and I study John Lyons,Pat Parelli,Guy McLean, Chris Cox, Clinton Anderson, Craig Cameron and many others on a consistent basis. I believe you can never know everything and the same techniques do not work on every horse. I have shown in all of the above disciplines and have done very well.
