At Bay Laurel, we take pride in building strong horsemanship skills and solid fundamentals that translate into successful horse and rider partnerships. All of our programs are tailored by Head Trainer Mary Galletti to fit any level of horse and rider, from new beginners to more advanced riders looking for new goals.

Lessons on The Dressage Simulator allows you to have a 100% safe and perfect ride every lesson. You will improve your riding skills and seat without wearing out your horse much faster than on a real horse since you can concentrate on your self without having to think about the horse! The Simulator is interactive with a big screen and you can practice a life-like ride in the dressage arena or on the trail with the instructor next to you.

We specialize in Western Pleasure training and Natural Horsemanship for serious minded adults, amateur and youth. Our program begins with giving you the tools that bring you respect and trust with your equine partner. One of the most important elements we provide is ground work which teaches respect and helps to create a safe environment. Secondly, we begin the riding process in order to get the horse to move the five main body parts and bring their training up to an intermediate level. Thirdly, we integrate you; giving you the ability to ride and move the five body parts. Finally, we also have the five C’s: building your Confidence, Correct balance, Coordination, Connection between horse and rider, and Communication skills you’ll need to properly ride.
We also work to develop and teach beginners and young children to be safe and confident riders. Our trainers have the background of being in 4-H from a young age to a young adult. We offer starting young horses from the ground up, and will provide the training to make a well broke horse, all the way to a completely finished horse. We believe that, by treating your horses as athletes, their bodies demand a nutritionally balanced diet as well as a preventive health care program. Santa Clarita Valleys premier huntseat riding academy and sport horse training and boarding center. Trainer Julie Van Loo is USHJA certified and has her USDF bronze and silver medallions.

Lotte has a lifetime of equestrian experience and has been training professionally for over 10 years, with the main discipline in 3-Day Eventing. Lotte came to California from Denmark in the fall of 1988. In 2001, she started her own business "Alotte Horses Riding School and Training Stable". Lotte is a member of USEA, USEF and CDS. She was won multiple championships at the Event Derby and at VCSC, where she won both Senior Horse and Super Horse titles.

Lotte likes to show her students other ways to enjoy horses as well. In addition to working in the arena, attending clinics and shows, she broadens their horizons by taking them on trail rides, participating in western riding, attending dressage and hunter/jumper shows and the occasional fox hunt meet. She also hosts one or two clinics a year, inviting an outside professional trainer to come for the day.

Lotte adores working with children and adults and also works well with anyone who has a fear of horses. Safety is always the first priority, both for people and the horses. Mallory Schneider has an extensive background in dressage, jumping and eventing. As a teenager she competed heavily in jumping and eventing, and in 2007 she switched her focus towards riding dressage professionally. Mallory has been the assistant trainer to the legendary Gail Hoff-Carmona of Los Alamos Dressage Center for the past four years, in which she continues her education daily.



Mallory has her USDF bronze medal and in 2009 showed the five year old Lusitano gelding, Zambo and won the United States Dressage Federation All Breed Horse of the Year Award for Pure Andalusian and Lusitano Horses at Training Level (67.306%) and placed 2nd at First Level (64.369%). Mallory continues to compete in dressage competitions all over Southern California. In 2011 she showed the Arabian/ Fresian mare Bella, for the first time at Second Level and scored in the 70's. In 2012, Mallory will be showing several horses for her clients through Third and Fourth level. We teach lessons 6 days a week in our covered arena to beginners thru World Championship caliber riders. All get the same attention to safety and fun with each rider or driver striving toward their individual goal. Our horses are safe, well trained and receive excellent care. We specialize in pleasure horses (no jumping) that are a pleasure to ride. Riders of all ages and experience levels are welcome. Working with horses is physically demanding so we offer a special $2 per minute program for riders 6 and under who may not be up to a full lesson yet.
