Our farm is located in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve and owned by a member of EPIC. Hunt View Farm was established in 2003 and is operated by Dr. Carlos Torres, a veterinary professional with extensive experience in horse management. Qualified Instructor that will travel to you or you can ride at my facility using the school horses provided in the Poolesville/Montgomery County MD area. I specialize in finding your perfect seat for a comfortable and correct ride. My background is in hunt seat equitation on the flat and over fences, as well as training level dressage. I have been a rider most of my life, attended and graduated from Southern Seminary College in VA and rode on the intercollegiate open equestrian team under JT Tallon - courses included stable management, hunt seat equitation, equine biology. Currently, I personally ride only dressage but continue to teach hunt seat and training level dressage. I am 44 years old and have a lot of experience to help you feel comfortable with your horse on the ground and under tack. Leslie Deering has been training and teaching for over 30 years. She herself trained with an Olympic gold medalist. Leslie specializes in teaching classical principles while building security and confidence, especially while jumping. Leslie's students have become A pony clubbers and Advanced level three day event riders. In addition to events, the stable attends hunter/jumper and dressage shows. Training horses and riders for foxhunting is another of Leslie's strengths. She's hunted in MD, VA and Ky for over 20 years. Since having her own children she has also found a real joy in developing young riders and ponies and introducing beginners to the pleasure of safe riding across country. We offer riding lessons to students ages 4 and up for our lesson program. We offer support, supervision, career management and a fun learning environment. Whether at our farm or at competitions locally or on the circuit, we aim to provide personalized attention to your goals and dreams.
  We strive to pass our experiences and other valuable information on to our students in a way that is both fun and challenging, while emphasizing safety and kindness to the horses.
Here you can learn the ins and outs of horses both on the ground and in the saddle!
We do not require formal riding attire but ask that the student wears long pants and closed-toe shoes with a short heel. We have riding helmets to lend to you initially to minimize your expenses while you are giving this exciting sport a try.
