I teach the basics for all riding styles and improve all styles using classical centuries old basics proven affective for any horse and rider. I've clinic for 4-H and at shows. I've judged trail classes. I've trained a year in the UK and under several top notch trainers including Alice Martin, Kate Fleming-Kuhn, Martin Kuhn, Judith Willemson"former lippizaner rider and trainer", Karen Licciardi, Terry Wright, among others. Anna is a 21 year old dressage trainer from Michigan. The past few years Anna has spent the summers in MI and the winters down here in Ocala. She brings client horses back and fourth as well as sale horses. Anna trained Unico G from a naughty 6y/o to preparation for the GP this year in a little over 3 years. Unico and Anna have come through the levels together training level through I-2 with an impressive record. They have own a few regional championships and qualified at each level through I-2 to compete. I have been riding since I was 9 years old, starting out as a hunter/jumper and competing in both local and “A” rated shows. I attended the University of New Hampshire where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science. At college I concentrated on dressage and combined training (eventing), and received my teaching certification. Studied Dressage, trained hunters and has taken clinics with Judy Richter (H/J trainer and "R" judge) , Carol Maloney (H/J trainer and "R" judge), and Hanz Renz (3-Day Olympic Swiss Team Coach) makes her a well-rounded instructor. DHEC's lesson program is world class. Our philosophy is to provide quality instruction by an experienced trainer with a focus on safety, horsemanship and fun. We offer lessons 6 days a week for both boarders and non-boarders alike. The first lesson will include an evaluation of the rider's level of experience and skill. After this lesson, we will place you into a private lesson or group lesson where you will ride with other students at a similar skill level.

We offer dressage and show jumping lessons plus have a 5-acre cross-country schooling field for eventing. We go to both h/j and eventing shows on a regular basis. Some of the local shows we attend are MSC, POP, Grand Oaks, Majestic Oaks, 3 Lakes, Sweet Dixie South, Barnstaple and Rocking Horse . We also attend rated dressage shows and eventing horse trials throughout Florida and the Southeast.

For the beginner, DHEC teaches how to tack up and basic horse care and grooming. We believe that taking care of your horse is an important part of the lesson program. Caring for your horse before and after each lesson makes each rider feel more comfortable around horses, teaches responsibility and allows the rider to feel closer to their mount. We start at the very beginning teaching balance as a number one priority.

For the more advanced riders, we offer an extensive lesson program focusing on safety and horsemanship so you can move up to that next level. The program features many school horses, group instruction, and frequent participation in local shows. DHEC provides additional services for the equestrian community, including offering horses both for sale and for lease.

Because the safety of our riders is extremely important, ALL riders must wear a helmet. We provide helmets for riders who do not have their own. Please wear long pants or breeches (jeans are ok). Paddock boots are ideal or a hard-soled boot with a small heel is acceptable (no tennis shoes).

Cara specializes in teaching remotely for dressage enthusiasts near and far. She creates a program curated to each horse and rider’s specific needs including ground work, proper basics and biomechanics and the fundamentals of classical dressage. I am a USDF Silver Medalist and have had the opportunity to train horses from birth through Grand Prix dressage and everything in between. I have been training horses for over 15 years and have worked with a USDF Gold Medalist and "R" judge for over 10 years. I have successfully started many young horses under-saddle, and have had the privilege to bring several of them past Fourth Level so far, scoring in the 70's at every level along the way.. Most notably training the imported German Warmblood stallion Blue Eyed Dream GF from a gangly three year old to competing together in Intermediare-1 dressage with scores as high as 76%, I have worked with many different trainers throughout the years and look forward to sharing my knowledge with the horse community in the central florida area and beyond.
